Stop giving your daughters male names!
By Adriana 3 Years, 7 Months Ago
This is a silly trend. Stop giving your daughters male names. Don't you want your daughters you have a beautiful, female names?

What's next, we're going to start naming our sons "Sophia" or "Isabella"? Because that's just as ridiculous.

Now I don't mean to offend anybody, but as a mother, this is just pissing me off!

I have a 9 year old son named "Avery" and have noticed that nowadays only girls are being named that!

There's a boy in my son's class at school with an infant sister named "Avery" and he teases my son about it! And now that boy has gotten more kids involved in teasing him and calling him a girl!

I know kids are kids and they'll make fun of any names, but I hate that "Avery" is now known as a female name.

Not only that, but my son and I get a lot of rude remarks regarding his name such as "His name is Avery? Isn't that a girl name??" etc

I love the name Avery for boys and boys only. My son was named after my GrandFATHER and it IS originally a male name.

You gave your son Avery cause you liked it for a boy, but people could say the same things back to you after naming there daughter Avery.

But they can't say the same thing back to me because Avery is originally a male name.

I have a right to be offended that it is "becoming" a female name now, but it would be stupid for someone to be mad if Avery went back to being known as a male name because it is originally a male name and should stay a male name.

I don't want my son, in the future, to be 30 years old (for example) and be the ONLY male Avery and have everyone make comments about it.

As I said before, what's next, naming our sons Sophia?

What about:

Bailey
Austin
Tyler
Aubrey
Alex
Jackson
Judy
James
Jamie
lots of those are used the same way as Avery
if I was having girls I was actullay thinking of Avery for a girl

I personaly don't care for Avery as a boy!!

I don't mean to be rude!!
