I hate unisex names. I know I have one, but I can't do anything about that.
I would never name my daughter something like Blake, Avery, Ryan, Riley, Jordan, etc. When I was little, most of the Taylors I knew were boys so I always thought that my mom wanted a little boy instead of me. I wouldn't want my kid to go through the same thing. So I won't go near unisex names.

"Creative" spellings are also annoying. Some names look okay, like if you spell Madeleine/Madeline. But Mahddelynne is just stupid.

1. I wouldn't say I love unisex names cause I only like a few. But my middle name is Shayne and I freakin love it!! Now I only think of it as a girls name. And my favorite name for a girl is Avery and I also like Rylie. To me Avery and Rylie are GIRLS names!! I will never understand how anybody could ever name a boy Avery or Riley!!! I've never even heard of a boy named Riley.

2. I do like changing some name spellings, I like Rylie instead of Riley. But I hate it when people change the spellings of names just because it's the way most people spell it. Take my name for instance, Alyssa, I don't get why people spell it Alissa, or Alysa cause none of those are as good as the sp Alyssa.

3. I absolutely hate B names!!! Not a single B name is cute at all!!

4. I also hate it when people give their kids names that aren't even pronounced the way they're spelt. I've actually known a girl whose name was Alissia, but it was Alyssa  :S

A family friend is named Shane. So it's difficult for me to see his name as unisex.
The only Avery I know is a boy and the four Rileys I know are all boys. I couldn't see those names on a girl. They seem too masculine. Just like I wouldn't put Bailey or Teagan or Laken on a girl. They don't seem like girl's names to me. That's just my opinion though.

Some changes in spellings look better, I'll agree. But like you said, changing it just because a lot of other people spell it that way is just.. ugh. I don't see why people would spell Alyssa a different way. It looks right to me. Alissa or Alysa looks a little off.

Can't disagree with you there lol. The only B name I like a little bit is Brayden. But that's only because it's my cousin's name.

I know what you mean!
There was this girl in one of my classes who's name was Jebehdaia or something like that. It was pronounced Jedayah.

I hate 'trend' names. I don't like to get into them and hate it when a name you love is currently being used everywhere (I have that problem with picking a boy's name at the moment ). I love long lasting names; timeless. Though my favourite for boy right now is Keanu and I'm not sure if that's longlasting? I guess there are exceptions to every rule

I hate overly used names. There are too many Johns, Jessica's, Ashleys, Katies, Brie's, Joshuas, amy's, Michael's and Mitchell's in the world. I'm not saying I think they are terrible names I just think they are too common nowadays.

I dont like creative spelling either. Especially with an already unique name. If you choose an uncommon name theres no need to jazz it up with spelling. Sometimes a lot it too much!!

NAMES THAT SOUND DIFFERENT TO HOW THEY'RE SPELLED. . . BAD.

I find it annoying when my name isnt pronounced or spelled properly. I usually get Charlotte or Scarlette or Scarlet. TT is not uncommon or hard to remember. But when someone names their child Toarai and gets annoyed at you when you think its pronounced Toe-ray or Toe-a-rie, i dont think thats justified. His name is pronounced Tol-day!!!

Unisex names don't bother me. Actually I find it quite condescending when someone says a specific name cant be used for a girl or vice versa. We live in a new day and age. Sex shouldn't matter in this case.

I love the name Alyssa. One of the kids in my kindy, my favorite lol, her name is Alyssa. She's adorable and follows me everywhere. We also have to Alicia's (Alis-ia) and one Alicea (Al-eesha). I'm used to it so I don't get confused but if I just met them I would be.

I don't have an issue with unisex names, but it seems to me that any name can be used on a girl, but if a boy has a unisex name it's suddenly seen as feminine. Just because Taylor is now also used for girls doesn't mean it ceases to be a boys name too - same for Tyler, Jordan, Paige, Ashley, Riley, Avery etc.

I hate Bri and -elle names. Don't know why.

kre8ive spelliingh - don't get me started.

La names - eww

Apostrophe names = eww

Animal names on people eg Bruno = no

And when people give their kids a cutesy name and not consider them having to be a respected adult with that name. I once went to school with a boy called Zolt and a boy called Elmo.

Elmo!?!?!?! I feel sorry for the kid. Endless teasing, that is.
My dad told me he went to highschool with a chinese boy named Hoo Flung Poo. I'm sorry, but even though it's mean, I think it's hysterical. He got teased a bunch, but he took it well because he knew he had a gorrible name to be in America.

My mom was determined to name me after the month I was born. It was a close call, I was almost named May I'm glad my name is April.

Overly creative spellings: Evil little buggers, those are.

Apostrophes: EWEWEWEWEWEW!!!!!

LaNames: I'm sorry, but yuck.

Animal names on people: a lot of 'animal' names were originally people names, like max and bruno. But, I would never use strictly pet names, like Spot or Socks or Duchess.

I Don't like cutesy names. I'm really against cutsey unisex names, like rylee or Bailey. Grrr... anything that ends in the ee sound I cannot take seriously.

Overdone spellings: Hehehehehehehe No.

La names: If the third letter isn't capitalized, I don't care. Lana is fine, but LaNa just looks ugly.

Apostrophes: I use some of them in stories, like A'lay, but for an actual human being... no.

Animal names: I agree with April.M, but I'm biased as my little brother's middle name is Maxwell.

I absolutely despise some of the more common names. Not just because they're common. Jessica I just can't stand, and to be completely honest I've never met a Jessica I liked. Two have been pricks, and another said she wrote the song Stupid Cupid. Which was written in '58. Kaitlyn, Kailyn, Ashley, Ashlyn, Amy, and all 'b' names I hate. I also don't like unisex names for boys. Or soap-opera names. Like Aiden, Auden, Marcus... things that seem like, 'made for TV names'.
