You have a 4 and 1 year old? Wait at least 2 more years. With an early childhood background studies have found thi usually . . .
If you have babies 1 to 2 years apart there is a lot of sibling rivalry.THe frst baby hasn't gotten all the "babying" he/she needs before being invaded by another baby.
If your babies are 3 to 4 years apart the oldest is out of the baby stage, copes better with a new sibling and don't want the same things the baby wants (toys).
If you have children 5 or more years apart it is like having only children. There is little that the oldest and the youngest child has in common.
I always recommend to wait uat least until the youngest is 2 years 3 months before getting pregnant. Then in 9 months when the new sibling arrives the youngest is 3.
Of course, there are some circumstances (infertility) where you just have to have the children when you can but it you aren't having problems getting pregnant I highly recommend letting the first baby have his/her time being a baby before a sibling joins the picture.Wait 3 to 4 years!

i dont believe that between my sibings and i there are some close age gaps and yes we would fight like any normal kids we were also very close i knew that if i was ever in trouble i could call one of them and know they wouldnot tell my parents about what happened until i was ready. we never had any sibling rivalry either we were all good at different things and to this day we have been successful n different things and have all chosen to do different things.

its the same with my best friends she has three nephews, 3 year old twins and then a 10 month old boy and they all get along well, yes sometimes the older ones can get a bit rough with the younger one but its because they dont realise he is smaller than them. but they get on well having tanties sometimes but otherwise they share and seem to get along fairly well.

i dont think the age gap between the kids matter just how they are brought up

i honestly agree with you, i feel its the home surroundings and you also have to set boundaries with your kids yes they all need to be treated equally but i feel its how that some kids should grow up together
