By mommylove 3 Years, 4 Months Ago Aubreejane-- those weights are considered low birth weights!!! There are tons of complications associated with low birth weight, including trouble breast feeding.

QUOTE: It doesn't make a difference if the mother's trying really hard not to smoke while pregnant- the same damage is done to the child. And it is people's business- if no one looked at anyones lives but their own the world would never progress. The only way to stop things that are wrong is to make it your business. It IS my business. Reason: it is people\'s business

Re:Pregnant and smoking!?? By jellybean123 3 Years, 4 Months Ago just thought i'd share my opinion..
i'm 21 years old and 34 weeks pregnant. i've been smoking since 16 BUT as soon as the doctor told me i was pregnant i handed over my pack of cigs to me friend and haven't smoked ONE cigarette since. personally i just wouldnt be able to live with myself if my child had to struggle because of something i could have prevented. i really think that woman should quit smoking while there pregnant, i understand that not all babies have complications because there mothers smoked during pregnancy BUT it does up the chance that SOMETHING could go wrong. low birth rate, asthma, why risk it for a freakin cigarette?? i would think that people would be more concerned about there childs health. i think its kinda selfish to keep smoking. im not trying to preach or say that its easy! before i got pregnant i tried to quit numerous times without success but C'MON!! you have a baby in your belly, its not about you, its about your baby.. you can put down the smokes for nine months to ensure a healthy child. that was enough incentive for me.. just the opinion of a former smoker.
