That's my plan. I know some said they didn't want to "waste" their college degree, but I have a college degree, too. I taught first grade for 5 years before quitting to stay home with our baby. My husband and I did careful planning before having a baby and got some bills paid off before I quit. He was born in November; I resigned the end of the school year before that, and substituted when school started back till I had him and have been home since. I am not wasting my college degree; I plan to go back when our youngest child starts school. I have the rest of my life to work, but I only have a few years to be home with our children while they are little.

Just a side note after your little rant about working vs. staying home: the original posting was more of an encouragement for people who were wanting the choice to stay home but felt that financial factors may prevent.

I dont think in the posting the author said that working moms are bad or that it was not ok for a child to go to daycare, she was just stating some of the cost factors that might help someone who wanted to be home find a way to do so.

Loads of us work and have kids so congrats to you for being one of the millions, CariannDS. BY the way, many moms also have degrees ranging from an AA to a JD/MD/DDS and combos thereof. No one who actually values his/her education would ever think that a degree is wasted by staying home with a child. Education will always be there, infancy/toddlerhood will not.

Thank you Workingathome, that is right. I was not saying that mothers who work outside their home are wrong. I posted this topic because I know alot of mothers who would like to stay home but feel they can't and I was just letting people know that most of the time it can be done if you really want to and you sit down to think about it and make a budget, and see what you can live without.

First of all I wasn't ranting. I was very calmly making my point. I never said anything negative in my post about Mom's who stay home. I also never said anything about wasting you degree if you choose to stay home.

My post was directed at "hay" for the absolutely uncalled for comment about "bratty kids with runny noses" in daycare.

My entire post was positive and ment to let mommies know that if they can't stay home or if choose not to stay home that there are positive aspects to daycare.

Truely yours, in a very positive and none ranting way.

A working Mommy

I really do want to stay home and be with my baby. In our country it is still rarely met, most moms go to work as soon as the babies are three or even earlier. A few decide not to give a child to a kindergarten. I dream to find some work to do it at home and I'll do my best to make my dream come true.
