Yes he as rights, if he requests a DNA test and is then listed as the father he has the right to seek custody or visitation rights, but if he is not then you have full custody and all rights to your child.

hi shann hes defo the father i am 20 and spent 2 years with him he knows he is but is deadbeat cos i wont get back with him

The only time he does not have rights over your child is when it is in-utero. At birth, if you have rights as half of the bio-donor to the child, then he does too. The only way you could do anything about that is if he has a documented history of violence or sexual misconduct. Then you might be able to get his rights severed at birth.

if you dont put his name on the bc and you have never been married then he still has rights but not as many as you do. he has to fight for some of his right through court. the less contact he has with the baby the harder it will be for him to gain all his rights.also give the baby your surname. i only know this through experience as i was in and out of court for 4 years. hope this was of some help. pm me if you wanna chat about anything else

Yes, you should be glad he wants his rights. Alot of losers these days don't want to take care of their responsibilities. Your baby has the right to have two parents whether you two get along or not (remember to love your child more than you hate each other )
