So I'm now 29 weeks pregnant.
I'm still supposed to be on bed rest.
I had a doctors appointment today, they had to do a stress test and they did an ultrasound to see how everything was going.
Myy placenta is healing just fine.
But the doctor scared the shit out of me, she said she thoughtt the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck, but then she was like that can't be the cord, her mouth is moving... & she said there's fluid around her neck that should't be theree, but they couldn't tell for sure. I have another doctors appointment in the morning, out of town.& now I'm worried. i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, what was it from, or was it anything bad?

How odd, I mean the baby can still move their mouth with the cord around their neck. And it is strange she said there is fluid around the baby's neck. Ultrasounds can't see fluid. Odd doc.

Did you have a nuchal scan? An amniocentesis will confirm if there is any problems. My sister's baby had excess fluid and they were checking to confirm that he didn't have Down's. But his was at the back of his neck not around it.

Oh, and yeah Bexie makes a good point, the baby's mouth can still move if the cord is around it's neck so those two things have nothing to do with each other.

I have done a little research and I have no clue what to say. the only thing I can find about fluid around the neck lead to things like anencephaly and cystic hygromas which are both would have been very obvios and diagnosed in the first trimester, not in the third. I am not sure what your doc is thinking but something seems a little odd.
