QUOTE: Yes but you said "I am personally Catholic but I go to a Christian church because my friend is not Catholic and I go with her" which sounds like you were saying that Catholocism doesn't fit under Christianity. I also didn't know there were Christian churches but just the different practised religions under Christianity eg Catholic church. It was just confusing and interesting, not meaning to make a fight- just discussion

Re:What do you teach your children? By Celianne 2 Years, 2 Months Ago Also not wanting to start a fight.
The Jesus Christ Church of Latter Day Saints is Christian. Mormans are Christian, of course, although there are quite a few differences in tradition and belief system from more mainstream (if you don't me saying that) Christian religions. It did not come directly from Catholicism, many Christian religions do not, but you can trace all branches of Christianity back to the Catholic church. Protestant was the first branch off, and it just kept going from there. Christianity has more branches than anybody would be willing to count. I personally find that a bit dumb, but I can't tell you what to believe and never will try. A lot of them are just different interpretations of the Bible. Actually I think all of them are...

Re:What do you teach your children? By Celianne 2 Years, 2 Months Ago General Christianity has less books in the bible. They don't keep some of the same traditions, and are more secular. Many branches take the bible literally and as the direct words of God. The Bible is divinely inspired, as in God put the ideas in people's heads and they put it on paper in ways they and other people could understand. Most of it is just teaching morals, it's metaphorical.
There's a man at my church who, if you talked to him about Christianity and the Bible and such, it just makes so much sense. He knows Catholicism inside and out, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's accidentally converted a few people just talking to them about it, haha.
