periods, joy!
By Shann 2 Years, 2 Months Ago
A few weeks ago I had Implanon inserted in my arm. I have had one period since then... but it has lasted for ten days, and still hasn't completely gone away yet.It used to only last for 5 days before I was pregnant.

Just wondering if my period has changed because of the implanon or does it change after having a baby and take a while to get back to normal or something?

If it is the implanon, do you think my period will settle down again when my body is more used to it? Or is this not the case??

I just hate long periods

I was hoping you had changed your mind about doing that.

Probably both.

I may or it may not. It differs from person to person.

Every womans body reacts differently to the hormone treatments for contraception. It may just be because its the first cycle since u had ur implanon put in or it might be because ur cycle has changed from having ur son. If it persists i suggest going bak to ur doctor and asking if its normal.

I get the needle and have not had a full period for nearly a yr. But as i sed everyone reacts differently. Hope i helped. Goodluck

Is this your first period since you had Noah? If not and the others were shorter, then it's the implanon and you should talk to your doctor ASAP. It is NOT normal for a period to last 16 days.

I had one period after having Noah before I had the implanon inserted. I think it was some what normal, too. A girl I know said that one of her friends has had the implanon since December last year and has had her period ever since. So now I am worried it may not go until I have the implanon removed.
