When you stop breast feeding...
By Shann 2 Years, 2 Months Ago
Well, I stopped breast feeding completely about 3 weeks ago.. maybe three, maybe four, I cant remember how long exactly, but definately 3 or more.

Anyway... I havnet had any pain with my milk drying up, but I still have milk. I havent been expressing or anything because I stopped feeding due to my milk supply getting lower and lower.

Should I still have milk if it has been around 3 weeks?? Or is this normal? I have no idea how much I have, but yeah. Just thought it dried up faster than this lol

Why did you stop? I don't mean to be a lactivist nazi, but it is best for your baby.

I didnt stop until my son was about 14 months old of course at that time he was only nursing once or twice a day since he was eating solids and got started on real milk but several months after I stoped and kinda wanted to see if I still had some I still had a little milk after I squezzed. and even after about a year when I squezzed it there was still some that kinda looked like colostrum but after he was two+ it stoped

Yeah, you can still have some for 6mon to a year or more later; not that it leaks or that it would be anywhere near enough for your baby by then. But if you test your breast, you very well could get a few drops way long after.

If you would like to breastfeed but you think you can't now, it is possible to re-lactate. Even adoptive mothers can train their breasts to produce milk. Anyway, yeah it's probably normal to be leaking a bit.
