help for dreadful migraines
By shandel 2 Years Ago
I'm 7 weeks pregnant, just found out actually!

Since I was a little girl I have suffered from chronic migraines. I am scared to death to get one now! I know that tylenol is OK in moderation for head aches, but is there ANYTHING else out there that is safe, and say stronger, that I could take?

I get the whole, numbness, loss of vision, puking and the worst head pains ever. When I have a migraine and I cant take my medication ( caffergot) I seriously feel like dying. It's that extreme! and I am guessing that it puts quite a bit of stress on my body.

I am into herbal remedies, anything, that would help control the pain, I just do not want to take anything that would hurt my baby.

If anyone has ANY suggestions I would LOVE to hear them. Thanks!

I don't get massive migraines but I've heard massages and acupuncture help!

Congrats on your pregnancy!

First of all - congrats!

I too have suffered from migraines since i was 14 years old (am now 27). Although I am not pregnant yet, I plan to be in the near future. I often wonder what I can take when I get a migraine, but am pregnant.

I'm not sure that there is much that can be taken that wont harm the baby.

If anyone has any suggestions please post them

During my last pregnancy I was prescribed Morphine and Tylenol 3 for debilitating pain. I would talk to your doctor. Even some homeopathic remedies are dangerous when you're pregnant.

I went to a chiropractor once a month- (I also get them) found out it was due to pressure built up in my shoulders and neck on the right side of my body. Worked wonders.
