it comes down to when your child is ready to start crawling. my niece was a pretty early learner when it comes to crawling, my eldest nephew learnt later but started walking earlier as well. and my seven month old nephew is looking like he aint going to crawl at all. i have a cousin how never once crawled but walked. but if your worried about it maybe ask a health professional or try encouraging your child to crawl. i find that if you put there favourite toys a little away they will try to reach it. and plenty of tummy time as well will help. but i think your son will do it when his ready. and parents always compare there children to someone elses. i hate when they do it but unfourtantely it happens. also my sister has play dates with our cousin how is crawling and baby pick up on what other babies do. the learn from others.

Some babies never crawl. My oldest son did not crawl until his brother came along and showed him how to do it. You should have seen his face, when he tried crawling to catch his brother. He called it, playing Puppy! So, don't worry - and I HATE it too when people compare babies. She/he will learn some sort of mobility method, and just praise them however they sort it out!!! Just tell your friend ~ "It is proven that the higher the babies IQ is, the later they will crawl". Einstein never crawled!
*I would give her "Tummy Time" on the floor for 20 minute sessions, and put a toy out of her reach, and somehow she will reach it if she wants it.

oh my mother in law does that everytime she sees my 10 month old. it's sooooooo irritating. she did it with my daughter as well and my daughter never crawled. she would scoot everywhere and i'm beginning to think my son will do the same thing. but both of my nephews started crawling between 6 and 7 months.
