I was just wondering, what all your thoughts are on tattoo's?

I'm 16, 17 in October, and I'm thinking of getting a tattoo for my birthday. It will only be small, a chinese symbol on the inside of my right wrist, but I was wondering on all your opinions?

My advice would be to get it where you can hide it for when you're older and you may not want to show it off so much.. and make sure you know the real meaning!!!!

All my advice would be is make sure your tattoo has a meaning to you, and that it will always mean something to you... i have a friend who has 28 tattoos with only 2 having meaning and he now regrets the other 26 and wishes he never got them..... i have one and i am getting a second after my baby is born!!!!

My first is the flower that i love Frangipanis they are also what i had in my wedding, my tattoo also has my husbands name with 2 wedding bands in it... (most people do NOT reccomended to do this) and I was always one of those people, but then in the last 12 months leading up to our wedding as a couple we went through some really really tough time including me losing 6 very close friends of mine with in 6 months those 12 months where just terrible.

as a couple i believe if my husband and i got through what we did i mean it was rough we almost post poned our wedding because of certain events that happened, but we figured we got through that and we are stronger than ever so we know that no matter what happens we are going to be together untill the day we die!!!!

Make sure it means a lot to you! And on your wrist is going to hurt a lot! Elliot has multiple and told me they hurt less where you have more skin and hurt more where there is bone! I only have one tattoo and it's on my wrist that says family in Welsh. I plan on getting another on my shoulder blade though.

I would wait until you're at least 20 before getting a tattoo. I wanted one when I was young, my mother refused which pissed me off to no extent. By the time I was one year older I was laughing about what I wanted to get. It was something that meant something to me and still does but it was the way I was representing that to myself.

I'm quite a bit older now and still don't have one, I guess that experience put me off them. I would say the best situation in which to get a tattoo is about your child- you can divorce a husband, hate family and friends and develop new ideas about life but you can never ever not love your child.
