Elijah Reese was born at 12:42 am, he's 8lbs 14oz, and 20 inches. He's a big sleeper, like after they were cleaning him off they brought him back to me, he had a lot of mucus, so about every few minutes were squeezing it out with the baser type thing but he fell asleep. WIth all my other kids I never had a moment of free time because they were up the whole time. He's not suckling so well, so feeding take a bit longer and I'm always waking him up for feedings. They wouldn't let all the kids come in at once so at 12 pm today my sister in law brought Jane, Noah and Tracy came to meet baby Elijah. As soon as Jane saw him she says "Mommy, he's a fattie", Noah and Tracy are very displeased that they're not the babies anymore but we just have to take some time and everyone will get adjusted to Elijah. The older kids haven't been able to come in yet but they will. I can't wait to get home with Elijah and immerse him into the mix of our home. I know that most people really treasure their time in the hospital but once I get in I can't wait to get out. I just think it spoils you, and it feels so awkward and unnatural. Tomorrow the doctor is going to come in and assess the mucus issue and the suckling issue and hopefully we'll be home Wednesday.
