My son hasn't been himself the last couple of days... He has this awful runny nose which is sometimes clear and sometimes yellow-greenish colour, a bad cough, won't sleep until about 12am (if im lucky...) then he's up again crying a few hours later. He's had awful dark green sticky nappies and he has just been so grizzly and off his food and bottles.

At first I thought it was teething, but I'm not so sure now! I know the flu is going around here due to winter and the awful cold weather. I'm taking him to the pharmacy when it stops raining... hopefully within the next hour... to see what the pharmacist thinks about what is wrong or if I should take him into the doctors tonight.


Anyone experienced this??

He's 8 and a half months old.

I would take him to the doctors instead of the chemist. They may be a little more helpful.

If you haven't already, I'd take him to the doctors. Since there's a time difference (and I'm not smart and can't remember what it is) maybe you've alrady done this? If so what did the doctor say? Or did you go to the pharmacy? If he doesn't want to eat or drink I'd definately go to the drs. Good luck, let us know how it turns out. Where do you live by the way? England?

I left Noah at home and went to the pharmacy and bought him some chest rub, fess and one of those suction things to get the gunk out of his nose. I am trying to avoid taking him out if possible because it has only been around 10 degrees here lately. I think if he is no better tonight I will take him in to the doctors.

@ lotsakidza: I live in Australia He has started eating a bit more now so hopefully that is a sign he is getting better!

10 degrees? You're lucky. I have the air conditioning running. It's been close to 40 degrees here. You'd think I'd sweat down to a nice size 6 but oh no....
