I worry about his arms and hands getting cold for when he isn't wrapped because I have a feeling he won't keep them under the covers, but then again... I've never actually tried it yet.

Making it a little less tighter gradually sounds like it might be the way to go... Thanks

I love long sleeved pajamas with feet! First of all, kids are so incredibly cute in them! Plus, I feel like they will stay warm even if the blanket gets off them.

My last child seemed to always get the blanket off him. I would go in to check on him and cover him back up, then a few minutes later he would wake up "mad".

If your temperature is set comfortably, and he has cozy pajamas, he should be fine even without blankets.

My cousin Kain, who is 3 days old (my avatar) is already trying to get himself out of the swaddle while he sleeps. I saw him today and I had to keep a tight hold around him otherwise he would have worked himself out of it.

I use a sleepy bag. It goes on the upper body similar to overals but the bottom is zippered like a sleeping bag. It keeps them nice and warm, they can't take it off, they can move around freely and it's zippered for diaper changes.

I have one of those but I worry about his arms moving around and him waking himself up, guess i'll just have to try it! lol
