I think you need to choose a name that isn't silly. I guess that depends on your definition of silly lol but I think a lot of the names that people are using these days are silly and cutsie and too many suit children but not adults. I just don't take any of them seriously. Why do people want their child to have a name that no one will take seriously. I won't use any examples because I don't want to offend but lets just say there are a lot. As soon as I hear a cutsie name or like a really trendy one I just think ugh! poor kid

Also don't choose a name and make the spelling all wonky to try and be unique. that is annoying for everyone including the child who has to deal with that for the rest of their life. Just spell a name as close to the way it others will recognize if for your child's sake. Why do people burden their children like that?

sometimes i look at the meaning of names but thts not always important its the flow of the name also and the name should be unique but not so crazy tht ppl would pick on him for example i know sum1 naming their son Braven Skeet (Braven is a beautiful name but Skeet?) i like names like Phoenix, Jonas, Maverick something not as common but still normal enough

When it came to naming my children i wanted something out of the ordinary. i didn't want them to be of 6 Jennifer's or Adams in their class. so, i looked into meanings and my beliefs as well as family and came up with their names. Salem Kiah was named after Salem, Mass. Rhys Douglas Parker was partially named after my Uncle and Godfather. if Rhys had been a girl he would have been named Avery Geraldine Maddison. Broox Finnley was named after Brooks Orpik of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Finnley came from my Scottish herritage. We may have 1 more baby in the future. if we do Ophelia Ember is what we have chosen for a girl and Rune for a boy...no middle name as of yet. Point being, we like odd names that make the child stand out a bit. i agree that naming your child something so incredibly stupid is wrong, but you should also take into account what you like, your family, your beliefs...anything that means something to you. do your research and choose wisely.

The meaning of the name follows the child throughout their lives so if you want your child to have favour in all they do, including school, work and life in general then Hannah meaning favour will be perfect. If you want them have protection from the big bad world the Samara meaning the one that God protects will fit the occasion.

Think about it your child gets called their names more than 100 times a day... every time you call the child you speak that meaning into their lives. Please dont name your child something that means dark or bitter. It will not be fair that before they are able to think for themselves you have spoken so much negativity in their lives by just calling their names.

I love names that are an ice breaker or a topic of conversation. for example hi my name is Ashley... (nice name but not something to talk about). As opposed to hi my name is Azaria... which will be followed by... wow nice or unusual, where is that from, what does it mean etc....

When we were trying to decide on a baby name for our 1st daughter, we spent alot of time researching and guess what???the names my husband and I had picked prior to our daughter's birth went out the window as soon as we saw that beautiful little face.

So I am not sure what to recommend, I found this site that has some interesting info on choosing your baby's name here:
