The name Alinea is a very old name of Germanic origin derived from the popular 12th Century Adeline, which derives in turn from the old word athal which means noble. It was a name given not only to women of royal birth, but women of sterling character.

Re:name for new baby girl By Dada Drummer 5 Years, 8 Months Ago How about something simple and real, like Evelyn. You get the E beginning and like Eleanor and the v inside like Olivia. Plus it has an l inside like both root names. Might that work?
It's a beautiful name with some history behind it. Easy to spell but pretty. Very nice sound combination. Not fake. Not part of a fad. Those are GREAT qualities to look for.
