Hey, Shann! Pardon me for saying this, but it's just so darn cute when they get that little independent streak and confidence about things!

I don't think kids under three are supposed to eat honey, so maybe hold off on that.

Meaghan's idea worked a lot for me, because my kids would often fall asleep in the car on the way home. Yeah, they didn't "cooperate" or "volunteer" to take the nap, but they got it in anyway and didn't even know it or what good it did them!

And, yes, the routine thing is the most important, I would say, even though I have always been the world's worst mom about keeping my kids on any semblance of one. Like you said, he really is still young enough where he really needs that one afternoon nap. Often, I ended up just holding or rocking my toddlers while singing to them to get them to drift off. I figured even at that age, it can't spoil them too badly. Aren't moms supposed to hug and sing to their little ones? However, there will come a point where you'll probably give up and they actually won't need that nap anymore. When it was 5 pm and he was just going down for a nap, or I had wrestled and sung my heart out for an hour, I figured then it wasn't worth it. Interestingly, all three of my boys did not need naps anymore between 2 to 2.5. I know that sounds young and some kids still take naps at 4 & 5, but I tell you there's something in mine's genes from their dad's side.

Well, sorry to ramble on. I hope this helps a little bit!

Adele - Thanks! So do I!

Alisamber - It certainly is cute, sometimes I just turn on the light and see him standing up along the cot rails, and I can't help but just smirk at him, Lol. Oh I hope he needs the afternoon nap for as long as possible! Haha, I feel like I need that little break sometimes! (Even if it is just to catch up on the house work without him bottom-shuffling around my legs trying to get me to help him stand up!). Your children quitting naps at 2-2.5 years would have been a handful at times, I bet! Thanks for sharing your experience with me!
