First Appointment and some random things
By Meaghan C. 10 Months, 2 Weeks Ago
So I had my first appointment yesterday. Positives about it were that we heard the heartbeat (162 bpm) and saw an ultrasound and I lost 20 lbs since the last time I was there in December. Negatives were that I had to get up a lot earlier than I'm used to and then the doctor was an hour late (she was stuck in surgery), and we couldn't find anyone to watch the kids and were there past the beginning of naptime. In spite of that the kids were fairly well behaved. Everything is going great and my official due date is February 1st, so I'm 11 weeks 2 days right now.

Now to my random things.

Since both our girls' first names end in 'a' I've been considering changing the spelling of Taylee to Taylea to kinda keep the trend. The girls' middle names both end in 'n', too, but none of the middle names we're considering have that as an option, so I'm not going to worry about that so much. So, what do you guys think of the spelling Taylea? Should I just keep it Taylee and not worry so much about the "trend" we have going?

I've also been thinking about the things we'll need for the new baby. We already have plenty of clothes for either gender, so I'm not worried so much about that, but a lot of our "big" stuff has either been expired or the laws have changed about them or we had to get rid of them when we moved, so I'm trying to compile a list of those types of things we're going to need. I know we need a new carseat, crib, and high chair, but am kinda drawing a blank on the other "big" things we might need. We already have a bassinet and stroller that should still work. So, other than that do you guys have any ideas?

That's all I can think of for now. Just kinda an update and a couple questions.

The only large items that I can think that you may have missed are:
Swing
Changing Table (not necessary, but nice to have)
Rocking Chair for nursery

Smaller Items Needed:
Monitor
Infant Bathtub

Congrats and good luck

I had actually thought about that a while back---that the girls' names end with A and N, but I just didn't mention it because your list didn't really lend itself to it. You wouldn't want to pick a name that wasn't "it" just to follow a trend. Then, I saw the spelling Taylea in one of your other posts and wondered if that's why you were changing it or you like the look of it better, or both. Well, I have to say I like the look of Taylea a lot better than Taylee. The double E is what I don't like so much, I guess. However, I'm not sure if people would pronounce Taylea as Taylee or "TAY lee uh". Which, you may like the latter pronunciation! :) Hey, if it was, she'd have three syllables, Aubriella would have four syllables, and Kaia would have two syllables! Oh, my other question is, Is Taylee/Taylea definitely the girl name or are you still considering others? Also, if you were still looking at several other things, maybe you could do Taylen as a mn with another first name. There would be a name ending in N to go along with all your kids, and it's like Taylee. Just thinking out loud. Well, best wishes! :)

Yeah, I'm considering keeping the trend going, lol. I do like the look of both, too. I may just end up asking John which way he likes better.

That's what I'm most worried about. I like the pronunciation of Tay-lee better than Tay-lee-uh, but the syllable thing with the girls' names would be kinda kewl.

Taylee/Taylea is definitely my top name at the moment. We've kinda put the name choice on the back-burner for now, though, and are still kinda considering a couple other choices. Taylen is kinda neat, seems a bit masculine, though. The only one of our choices it might work with is Xennia. Xennia Taylee is on our short list, so Xennia Taylen might work. The main thing I don't like about it is there's no 'A' name, which I'm more concerned about than the 'a'/'n' endings. Of course, I'd have to run Taylen by John, too, and see what he thinks of it.

Fun, fun, fun, huh?!

Do you guys know why lately I'm not receiving some new messages in my email inbox, even though I'm subscribed to them? I just happened to click on this, because I was surprised Meghan hadn't responded (it wasn't in my email), but she actually had. ?

I have a niece named Taylan---she's about 11 or 12.

You could do Taylen Amethyst. That way, you have the A mn, and the first named ends with N like Aidyn.! Of course, you could spell it Taylen, Taylyn, Taylan, whatever.

Happy Naming!
