I don't really have a birth story. My daughter was born via planned c-section at 35 weeks due to a high risk pregnancy, complications, family history, ect . We went in to the hospital around 6am and she was born before 12.. I think. I don't remember anything, the whole day was a complete blur! I couldn't even tell you her weight or height either. I'd have to look at her babybook which I'm not even sure where that is since we are packing up to move in the next few weeks.

But I do remember seeing her for the first time. THe doctor lifted her up above the curtain before he nurses took away (she was undeveloped, had many other complications and was born with her cord wrapped around her neck 3 times) and I started crying asking why my baby was so ugly. The doctor goes "Grace, your baby is one of the cuter newborns I've seen, some are just down right ugly! Atleast yours doesn't have a conehead or really squished, fat face!" That made me laugh.

None of my birth stories are particularly exciting.

My first was an induction because I was tired of being pregnant (40wks 6days). 12 hours of active labor, 1.5 hours of pushing, and he was born at 9lbs. Miserable recovery because I tore really bad and had a uterine infection.. yeah it was awesome.

Second baby was supposed to a C-section because she was breech, but after being prepped for the surgery they realized she wasn't breech anymore. Went back to week later and was induced following a failed NST (40wks 3days). She was in distress, my placenta was toast. I labored for 13 hours from the placement of the Cervadil, but only made it to 4cm (but no pain meds!). and then ended up with a C-section because she was positioned wrong and couldn't be born. Easier recovery than my previous vaginal birth, oddly enough - I went to a birthday party the day I left the hospital. I left the experience thinking C-sections weren't nearly as bad as people say, haha. I know I just got lucky though. Her face had been mashed against my pelvic bone with every contraction, so when she came out she looked like she'd been in a bar fight. Two black eyes, fat lip.. she was one ugly little newborn, haha. Funny enough about ten minutes before she was born I told DH that "hey, with a C-section she won't be all swollen and puffy from the birth canal!" Ha. Right.

My third birth was a VBAC. I went into labor naturally at 42wks 3days, and I labored at home for 5 hours, went to hospital at 8cm. Waited two more hours, then got an epidural. She was born 3 hours after that with only a couple of pushes. I regret the epidural that I got because I was afraid of how much it would hurt to push for over an hour like I did the first time. I wanted a natural birth and chickened out, lol. Successful VBAC, and my easiest recovery. I drove myself and all three kids home from the hospital, even.

So there you have it, my birth stories, albeit briefly! =)

I'm not pregnant nor do I have children, but when my Ma was pregnant with me and lazlow, ( we're twins), she was walking down the street and these guys whistled at her then past her and she said their jaws hit the floor cause you couldn't tell she was pregnant till you saw her front. She was also wayyyyy bigger when she was pregnant with our younger sister then she was with us.
Our birth I think she didn't have an epidural( I could be wrong, but one time we were watching tv and she said that epidurals were stupid, so I think that she delivered us without one).

I don't have a birth story other than my own, and I loved to hear my mom tell it. I was due on December 5th, 1977. The night before I was born, my mom got a massive craving for Cheese. she cate a bunch of cheese, and went to bed with a horrible bloaty feeling in her tummy. She was a month and 2 days over due, but didn't think anything of it. When she woke up, she realized it wasn't just a bloaty feeling, it was contractions. She and my dad (who was mister freak out when my older sis was born) got in the car and headed for the hospital at a very relaxed pace. My mom realized pretty soon that they better hurry, and she finally convinced my dad she did not want to name me Volkswagon, but she would if that is where I was born.
When they got to the hospital, the nurse got an orderly to bring my mom to L&D. After moseying on down the hallway, they were going up on the elevator, as sweet as can be, my mom looked at him and asked, "Have you ever had to deliver a baby before?" and he told her No. Then she said with emphasis "If we don't hurry up, you are going to!" she said the elevator doors opened, and he litterally shoved the wheelchair out and through the doorway to L&D and ran the other way.
We got settled in the labor room and a nurse came in and said that mom's doctor was on vacation, and that Dr. Caufmann was on duty, but he was downstairs performing an abortion, and he would be up as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I am making my way out quickly. Dr Caufmann arrived just in time for the nurse to put my mom's legs in the stirrups (the nurse was going to do the delivery if she had to), he got 1 glove on in time to catch my head, but my shoulders were stuck. He manipulated, mom pushed, but nothing was happening, finally with a great push and a good pull, and the fracturing of my mom's pelvis allowed me to pass through. As he held me up and said, "It's a Girl" my mom said "No, It's a <my name>" and the whole room laughed.
The doctor waited for the afterbirth impatiently, and made a halfassed inspection of it. Sewed my mom up, and went back to his abortions. My mom begged to nurse me and they wouldn't let her. She demanded they not give me sugar water (common practice back then). Within a couple hours, my mom was almost dead from a hemmorhage. The doctor had not cleared her uterus of the full placenta and a small piece was left behind and bleeding out. Again she begged to nurse me, and they finally relented, causeing the uterus to contract and expell the leftovers and restricting the blood vessels. When she handed me back to the nurse she noticed the big sign on the bassinet of my name. The nurses were so tickled by her enthusiastic naming of me, they did it up really nice.

I was 9lbs 8.5oz with shoulders like a linebacker.
