Re:Birth Stories By Shann 10 Months, 1 Week Ago Reena - Great story!
I was schedueled in to be induced at 40 weeks and 8 days, but started having contractions at around 5.30am that morning. At the same time I was ready to be taken to the hospital, my partner had a job interview which he could not miss. So, that morning my mother and aunty were taking me into the hospital and we were all in the car, then my mum, who was driving, figured she needed petrol. We stopped at the petrol station, got petrol, mum went in to pay, and didn't come back for about ten minutes... she was in the shop buying icy poles and checking her bank balance... while I was getting ready to give birth in her car at a petrol station!! THEN, once my mother finally returned to the car, we had to pick my step father up from work. This took some time because he had to move the babyseat out of the car so he could fit because he is tall... So here I am... sitting in a car with a bunch of slowpokes, having contractions, trying to stay calm... By the time I finally made it to the hospital, the midwives were shocked I had only just arrived. By this time, my partner had finally finished his interview, which was just around the corner from the hospital, thank goodness. When he arrived, we were taken up to our private room that I was going to give birth in. I had dinner brought up to me, because I hadn't eaten much all day, but then a nasty nurse came and took it away from me saying I wasn't allowed to be eating! I was so so hungry! When the contrations were extremely close, I had people jabbing me with anisthetic, trying to find a vein so I could have some pethdine, but by the time they finally got a bit into me, I was already pushing. I remember the worst part was trying not to push when the midwives told me not to push, because they were trying to get Noah's shoulders out with the least amount of tearing possible. My beautiful baby, weighing 8lbs 12oz and 52cms long, finally arrived at 8.58pm on Tuesday the 24th of November, around about the same time that Ruby Rafter was born on Packed to the Rafters, which I obviously missed! lol, was kind of funny, though! Sorry for the looong story! I could add so much more to it! lol.

Re:Birth Stories By Meaghan C. 10 Months, 1 Week Ago Mine really aren't as interesting as some, but here it goes.
I wasn't due with Aubie until February 6th, but on January 8th I started having some major contractions. After a while I noticed they were becoming pretty regular so I decided to time them while my friend gave me a back rub. The contractions were coming about 10-15 mins apart so I called the doctor who told me to go ahead and come in to get checked. When we got to the hospital I was dilated 5-6 cm, but since it was still a month until my due date and we didn't know whether she was a boy or a girl (well, I "knew", but they probably wouldn't have believed it even if I told them) they gave me a shot to try to stop contractions and hold things off for a while. The doctor told me she was surprised it actually worked as far along as I'd progressed already and they kept me for a couple days to monitor things before I was sent home on bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy. I was in and out of the hospital a couple of times over the next week and a half until she was born. The day she was born I woke up at about 6:00 a.m. when my water broke (although I didn't realize it at the time), went to the bathroom and tried to go back to sleep, but the contractions just got stronger and stronger until I woke John up and we decided to go to the hospital. We got to the hospital just after 7 and I had to have the nurses check me 3 times before they decided yes, my water had broken and I was fully dilated and ready to push. Kaia's birth wasn't as interesting as Aubie's I guess. I woke up a little before 6 because of contractions and couldn't go back to sleep, so I decided to time them for a while. They were coming about 10-12 mins. apart so I decided to wake up John and we headed to the hospital. They checked how far I'd progressed after we got there and I was about 5 cm dilated. After a couple hours they checked again and it seemed that I was stuck at 7 cm. The doctor decided to artificially rupture the membranes to see if it would help to speed things up. It sped things up all right, and it also tripled the intensity of the contractions. Within an hour and a half I was fully dilated and ready to push. Once I started pushing the nurses kept telling me to lay back while I was pushing and not to stop to take deep breaths. I couldn't breathe that way and because I couldn't breathe I couldn't talk to tell them that. I actually blacked out for a second because of it. But, again, I only had a short time pushing before she arrived. My baby girl- Kaia Avalon, born October 28, 2008, 11:42 a.m. 6lbs. 13oz. 19&1/4 in. long with IV, artificial rupturing of the membranes and no pain meds. I started having contractions late the night before Aidyn was born, but I went on with my normal routine and tried my best to ignore them. When I got up the next morning I was still having contractions, but I didn't think they were close enough or strong enough to worry about yet. I told John to go ahead and go to work and I'd call him if anything happened, but he wanted to be sure before he went and asked me to time the contractions. So I hopped in the shower (I knew it would be a while before I could get another one and I didn't want to feel gross on top of being in labor, plus I knew people would want to be taking pictures and I didn't want to look scroungy for those, either) and timed contractions. When I told John the contractions were about 15 mins apart he said we should probably just go to the hospital and called in to work. We got to the hospital at about 10 a.m. and they did all the routine checks. I was dilated about 4-5 cm. so they went ahead and checked me in. A few hours later I had progressed a little bit, but again seemed to be stalled at 7 cm. So, again, they decided to artificially rupture the membranes. After they did that and I felt the contractions getting stronger I remembered what happened the last time around and chickened out for the epidural. Not long after that I was fully dilated and wanting to push. I'd been seeing a Nurse Practitioner for this pregnancy, so when I told her I was wanting to push she called for her supervising doctor and told me to push. She barely had her gloves on and got over to me to catch him, since it only took 3 pushes. The supervising doctor didn't get in there 'til 5 mins. later when she was finishing everything up. My cuddle-bug- Aidyn Ryker, born October 13, 2009, 4:12 p.m. 7lbs. 14oz. 21&1/2 in. long with IV, artificially ruptured membranes and epidural. Sorry it's long, but it's really not that bad for 3 stories in one post.

Re:Birth Stories By mitchganda1977 8 Months, 3 Weeks Ago ive had 3 kids already...
for my first son i was on epidural normal delivery during my pregancy all i felt was nervousness.. i love my son of course but i didnt felt excited like what mothers usually feel when the due date is fast approaching. When i was at the delivery room i was trying to push but baby reign just doesnt go out ... my ob came and said bb is tired already she said she needs to cut.... when i pushed simulteanously she made a cut and wow.... i felt the baby came out the shoulder part is what i felt... for the second one its on c section ... reason failure of induction of labor. ohhh... i didnt felt it but i was awake all through out the operation so to ease my nervousness i kept on talking talking asking asking the nurses ( i think , anyway whoever that person is inside the operating room ) he even told me , Misis wag ka na madaldal sasakit tyan mo ( tagalog ) in english Mam stop talking or else you'll have gas pain. and true ... oh my goodness it was worst than my labor. actually my labor with basti was very tolerable i didnt felt any pain.... 3rd baby finally its a girl... im here in kuwait. i was planning to have a c section again since my blood pressure becomes high during pregnancy but i dont know when i was admitted already and was asked to choose i chose normal eventually if i cannot make it we can push through with the cs. most of the people i know said that i made the ryt decision, going for normal delivery. Oh my...i was admmited 130pm( may 29, 2011) time goes on and on and on...inducing medicines are not effecting and the mother beside me adds to my nervousness she was shouting really loud and i can feel her pain. shockingly i didnt know that the room where i am laboring is the same room where u will deliver the baby. in the Philippines its a different scenarion and you have nurses around to assist you. 430am they place the next medicine then at 5am the pain started already as in evry 10minutes then the doctor came asked if i am in epidural bec i cant feel tremendous pain AS IN....so they scheduled me for me for epidural just before the clock strikes 530am came i was calling for the nurse,,, the nurse here in the middle east is called sister... i said sister...sis...then i felt im loosing my breathe..o my... i was already praying then thinking if i will not make it God will do the rest... she said ok, she stood up and said lesh iji baby ok i will call doctor ( arabic ) but then when i called for again i said sister ( still like loosing my breathe ) sister baby coming out already. she said wait wait because the bed is not yet prepared... oh my i can feel the head the round head even if you dont push you will feel the head is coming out you feel it really and it's painful and cuts my breathe really.... and then she said... digiga ( wait ) hold hold digiga i said i cannot hold anymore coming i said bes chidi mafi anesthesia mafi walashey ( i said just like this i dont even have anesthesia or anything ) then i pushed one i pushed again really hard then she made a cut then there goes my baby naomi. All i said was halleluah, thank You Lord thank You Jesus praise God .... then after how many minutes the one who will conduct the epidural for me came... kalas she delivered the egyptian nurse said.. oh my... i thought i cannot make on normal delivery and whats best here is its really normal normal as in normal its a spontaenous normal delivery... Thank God nothing is impossible with God. worst here you transfer to your bed alone.. no assistant just you you and only you.when i called my hubby that i delivered already .. oh i wanted to cry and still cannot talk its like im still loosing air.. had a lot of stitches in the recovery the doctor made a stitch again NOW WITOUT ANESTHESIA again she said bec if we will put it will become swollen again and we need to fix this again because the one who made first didnt made it right you will bleed bleed bleed if will not do it again. she said she want me to be ok before i transfer to the room. its hard its painful but i remained calm and obedient hehehehe this was really an experience for me... and comparing here and in the philippines of course its really an adventure experience...
