Long plane ride with 9month old. Advice? By Gracie1 9 Months Ago So LO has been on a plane ride before, but not since she was 5 weeks old. We went to Guyana so my mum's family who lives there could meet her! Since she was 5 weeks that was a hard tast to do.
NOW October 2nd thru October 22nd we will be taking LONG plan rides. I'm taking her from London to Bangkok (Thailand) to see my mum, half sister, and mum's boyfriend. Then from Thailand we will be going to New York (Not a direct flight, I don't think they do them straight from Bangkok to New York anymore, I don't know where we are stopping) to visit some of my dad's family and some friends. Then will be going to Los Angeles (that flight I'm not worried about) Then we will be going back to London from L.A. (also not a direct flight) Well anyway, I'm sure my LO won't just love flying, haha. I'm lost at ways to keep her entertained for so long. The last thing I want to be is the mum with the baby who won't shut up that's annoying everyone! This trip isn't really an option! We are visiting family who've never met her before and it's cheaper for me and my daughter to fly then everyone fly to us.. Then in early December we will going back to Guyana so some of my mum's family can see her again. She'll be 11 months then almost 12 Any ideas/suggestions to keep her occupied? Also anyway besides a bottle to help with her ears popping? I will have a bottle and a dummy for her to suck on, but if she doesn't want either, I don't know what to do then. Thank you! ~Grace

Re:Long plane ride with 9month old. Advice? By monkeys1315 9 Months Ago I flew from Washington to Florida when Marina was 10 months actually, and I remember like you I was worried and brought a million toys and everything. But she loved looking out the window the most, Itlike fascinated her. So my advice, try to get a window seat maybe your baby will like it too. And also have her suck on her pacifier when you go up and escepially (sp) when you land. And also probably bring some toys and some snacks if she gets hungry.

I've already paid for the plane tickets! I don't know if we have a window seat or not! Hopefully we do! I will definitely make sure to bring a few toys, snacks, and her dummy (Pacifier).. I was thinking bottles too. She doesn't have any teeth right now so her snack is apple sauce and mushed bananas!

Re:Long plane ride with 9month old. Advice? By unique names 9 Months Ago I don't know if this will work but maybe try skipping her nap that day, and have her be a little tired so she'll sleep on the plane?
Good luck!

By EllenaHughes 9 Months Ago Hi, my daughter is the same age as yours. We are very frequent flyers. Avi is different each time we travel, usually calm, but loud and bubbly, but there have been a few occasions in which she has screamed the whole way.
The bottle and and dummy help quite a lot i find, particularly during take off and landing. I usually take a lot of toys, although find myself giving her my iphone because it is the only thing that keeps her quiet for more than 2 minutes, and i get worried that the other passengers will get annoyed. We are usually seated at the rear of the plane, and there are quite often 2 or 3 other babies travelling in the seats adjoining. The airlines that i have flown on have all been brilliant, with the attendants willing taking Aviana from me and carrying her around the plane. I fyou find that you need a break for a few minutes, do not be afraid to ask, there are many people willing to help you out, not just the crew but mothers with older children and grandmothers as well, you will be surprised at just how accommodating and supportive the other passengers can be. Wishing you and Lo a safe and happy journey Ellena

By sydwilliams 9 Months Ago Flying with so small baby is not easy. But knowing dome dimple steps can give you very comfortable plan ride. First remember to buy infant seat with you so that your baby can feel comfortable by seating in that seat. Don't forget to buy diapers with you so that your baby doesn't feel wet.During the plane take off, there will be lots of pressure on the baby’s ears. Give him a baby bottle or his pacifier so he can be distracted with the take off. In this way you can have safe baby travel.
