Any of you ladies diet?

I'm just curious. Do any of you diet? If so what do you do and does it work for you? Or do you have any strict work out schedules and what is it?


I'm asking because my exercise regime/diet is getting old and not working for me so much anymore! I've gained 2 kilos! I'm now 52 kilos! Which I know isn't big, but it's too big for me!

Well my work out is run 8k a day plus a day of all day dancing and I eat about 1200 calories a day and I eat an extremely healthy vegetarian diet with the occasional treat of frozen yoghurt!

So how tall are you?

Your body needs 1200 calories to maintain itself with no activity, if you are running 4 miles (burns 400 cals), dancing all day (burns 1000 calories for 5 hours), and limiting to 1200 calories your health might be in danger. I would speak to a doctor about your intake and output to be sure.

My diet secret is to just eat the same granola bar for breakfast and whole wheat tortilla, 3 slices lean turkey, and salad mix for lunch and dinner every day. I might toss in a piece of fruit or another granola bar for a snack now and then. I do that wednesday through Monday, on Tuesday, I can eat whatever I want, no deprivation. If I wanted a pound of butter on Tuesday, I could have it (I never do, but I could if I wanted it). I lost 50lbs in 6 months with very little exercise.

52 Kilos is about 105 lbs. right? I don't think I've weighed 105 since I was like a seventh grader, lol. Also, I believe the "normal" recommended daily caloric intake is somewhere around 2000 calories for a healthy, active lifestyle. I agree with Reena that you should probably consult a doctor and/or nutritionist before deciding to change your diet and exercise routine.

Personally, I hate diets and dieting. I just try to limit junk intake (but there's no way I could cut it out entirely, I love junk food too much ) and make sure the things I do eat are reasonably healthy. As for exercising, right now my routine consists of chasing my kids around making sure they don't get themselves into too much trouble, occasionally walking with them down to the park a couple times a week, and weekly grocery shopping (which usually includes several trips to and from the car to our second floor apartment with heavy grocery bags). Not as active as you, but for now it's all right for maintaining my weight.

52kg's is TEENY TINY!
I don't diet as such, but I eat Low GI, and I've lost 14kg's by doing that. I've maintained my weight now for about 2 years. I'd still like to drop about another 4kg's but I'm battling because I need to be stricter on myself with cheats and I really love chocolates and desserts so it's not working.

I go to gym 5 times a week and do light weight training for toning and it definitely makes a difference, I also do spinning.
I'd suggest you consult a dietician or personal trainer as to what your healthy weight should be and they can direct you as to what you can do.

ReenaC- I'm fairly tall.. about 5'8 or so.. I'm considered "fat" right now for a model even though..

My doctor told me to eat at least 1200 calories a day which is really hard for me. I eat lots of fruits and veggies which are hardly anything..


Meghan- um its about 114/115.. if I remember correctly to get pounds (as in weight not currency which comes to my mind ) from kilos I think you multiply by 2.2..
Chasing kids should be considered exercise.
Yeah I don't like junk food much.

Jadis- I don't consult my Dr for anything! I hate going to them its so inconvenient.. but thanks. I've gained 2 kilos in 2 weeks but i haven't gained anything since! Thankfully!
I know I'm not going to be at a healthy weight. I almost have an addiction to working out and staying fit

At 5'8", 115 lbs is over 10 lbs underweight. You should be at least 126 lbs and that is if you have a small frame. If you have to drop weight to medel, quit. Your life isn't worth it. Personally, I don't like to see my clothes hung on a skeleton, so I don't buy designer anything. I am a hell of a billboard, and if I am blazing your name on my chest, butt, back, or bag, you are gonna pay me to wear it, not the other way around.



Oh yeah, and if you are gaining weight at that cal level and that activity level, you are probably gaining muscle. Do see a doctor and have them do a body fat percentage on you.
