Broken baby tooth
By Shann 5 Months, 2 Weeks Ago
Hi ladies!

I haven't been on much at all lately, hopefully I can catch up with all the news!

A couple of days ago Noah fell over and broke his front tooth! It seemed to happen so easily, I was in complete shock about it. About 1/3 of his front tooth just snapped clean off. Has this happened to anyone else's child? I just couldn't believe how easily it could break like that. Thank goodness it is only a baby tooth, but it's such a shame he still has a few years before a new one will come along.

Not quite the same thing, but recently Aidyn tripped and hit his face on our bed frame. I think it might have "killed" one of his front teeth.

My younger brother, though, was in Jr. High when he tripped over a backpack on the playground and broke his tooth in half. Good news was that the dentist could fix it so it looked like it never happened. Not sure how he did it, but he did.

My eldest son Luke broke a tooth when he was 2. He literally broke it almost up to his gum.. saying there was 1/4 left was generous. He was riding trying to get on Ava's 'big girl' bike and fell off and landed head first into the concrete. We actually just had the dentist remove the rest of it because it cut in a point so he'd cut his tounge on it. His adult tooth came in at 4 and he's only lost 2 more since then

Poor Noah though! Have you taken him to the dentist?

My niece fell at around 2 and half and broke her tooth. My sister took her to the dentist and they then just took it out. Her adult tooth then came through quite early, around 4/5.

Maybe you could take Noah to the dentist and see what they say ?

Glad to know he isn't the only one!

Meaghan - My sister had a 'dead' tooth when she was about 3. I bounced her on the trampoline when we were kids and she went mouth first into the metal frame! She then had a grey front baby tooth until it fell out!

Hattie - Poor Luke! That must have been painful for the little guy!

Auntieofsix - Do you know how badly her tooth was broken? Or if it was causing any discomfort?

I was waiting to see about taking him to the dentist if it was worrying him, but he doesn't really seem to notice it so I haven't taken him yet. I don't think they will touch it because it isn't very sharp or causing any discomfort. I also read on the internet (so goodness knows if there's actually any truth in it!) that if baby teeth are removed too early it can cause the other teeth to crowd the space where the new tooth will eventually grow.

Maybe a trip to the dentist after Christmas is over with will put my mind at ease, though!
