Thanks for all the positive feedback I understand that the name "Stratton" is not everyone's "style", but at least everyone here is mature about it. I shared the name on another forum (baby bump) and most moms on there "hated it" and said things like "your child will hate you". Or suggested names like "micheal" or "Alexander"... It seems they are more into common names (which is fine) but no need to be rude.

Thanks again ladies. btw, I don't mind sutton either. My other top boys names were Kohlson, Streiter, Kesler, Stetson (although it's a bit cowboy-ish)...

Oh! Also wanted to ask what kind of nicknames he might get with this name?? We figure he might get "strap-on" as a teenager but it's the only one we could come up with.

So glad you made the "strap on" comment! That's the first thing that came to my mind when I read the name, but I didn't want to say it. Haha, he'll probably be getting way before he's a teenager, though. I went to school with an Atticus and he got Atticunt starting in primary school!

I guess "brat" too. Oh well! We've already gotten personalized items for him and those wooden nursery name letters. Guess he will have to deal with nicknames. My name is 'pamela' and I never got teased even though I could have been "spam", palm-ela hand-erson, Pam is a ham... Etc
My hubby never got teased either ("Calvin" altho kids sometimes asked him "where's Hobbs?"...
