By samanthaMaY 4 Months, 1 Week Ago So, my husband and I are coming to an agreement on baby names. With boys we've got Steven Ray and Tyler David. With Girls we've got Emberley Raine and Kirstyn Monroe. But we still don't know the sex and I'm about 4 months along, and my mom said that she knew my and brother's sex when she was 4 months and three with my sister, Although, my mom's been looking at the ultrasound and says it looks just like my brother's 5 month ultrasound, I don't see the resemblance, but my mom is off her rocker.. There's only 1 baby though, so its a 50/50 chance. Suggestions for names?
Also.. I'm actually scared, I've already lost 2 other babies, and we're scared I might lose this one too. This is my 3rd pregnancy and I'm only 20..if that matters. My doctor doesn't know why I lost the other babies, so I no idea what to not do. I can't drink, I'm not of age,and I wouldn't be able to live myself if I smoked during a pregnancy. My mother did it and we all turned out fine, but I wouldn't risk it trying. I would really apreciate it if could share with me any reasons why I could have lost my babies and what I shouldn't do in this pregnancy and in others. Thank you/ Sam Last Edit: 2012/01/15 18:37 By samanthaMaY.

By SilverStarlet 4 Months, 1 Week Ago How many weeks pregnant are you? Because a month can vary in the amount of weeks it has, and the pregnancy trimesters are divided by weeks and not months. Its hard to give an accurate answer without knowing how many weeks you are.
No ethical ultrasound technician will determine the gender of the baby before 16 weeks, as its too hard to tell for certain. Although it is possible to find out as early as 14 weeks with a private scan, you would be taking a risk as its difficult to determine accurately at that period of gestation. I was 19+6 weeks when I found out the gender of my first daughter, 20+5 weeks when I found out the gender of my second and 20+1 weeks when I found out on the baby I'm currently pregnant on. I'm so sorry for your previous losses. Have you had any tests run on you or your partner? Wishing you a healthy pregnancy, xx

By samanthaMaY 4 Months, 1 Week Ago Sorry, I forgot. The first miscarriage was 9 weeks and the second was just before the second trimester. I'm 20 weeks along right now, 21 weeks on the 22nd of January. I was 19 on both pregnancies, if that has to do with anything.

By SilverStarlet 4 Months, 1 Week Ago Oh, I see. So for your second pregnancy you would have miscarried at around 12-13 weeks?
Age shouldn't be a huge factor, I don't think. I had my first child at 18 so I can appreciate where your coming from. Did you have either of the babies tested to see if anything was found? Either way, I'm truly sorry. There's no way to really "prevent" a mc, they can happen to absolutely anyone. Its so tragic that it's already happened to you twice. I guess you could watch your diet, and pay strict attention to pregnancy diet guidelines. Try not to overwork yourself or get too stressed? I'm not sure. Did your doctor have any advice?

Re:Baby Names and help preventing 3rd Miscarriage? By emily. 4 Months, 1 Week Ago I like Tyler David and Kirstyn Monroe.
Most miscarraiges are in the first trimester. So since your poast the first trimester and well into your second, your chances of a miscarriage are greatly reduced. Just watch your diet and regulrly exercise (yoga/pilates/swimming/light walking) are all good ways to stay active.
