Okay, so I want to know how you all would first pronounce this name.

1. "JAKE uh bee"
2. "juh KOE bee"
3. other

I always thought it was like #1--like Jacob with a long e sound at the end. But I think I overheard someone reading the name out loud in a contest and everyone could see the name, and the person said it like #2--like Kobe Bryant with "ja/juh" before it.

So, please tell me your experience with the name/your thoughts. Thanks!

I say jack-uh-bee. There was a character in Princess Diaries, Andrew Jacoby, who was pronounced that way. I have heard jake-uh-bee, too, though.

I remember reading it a while ago and thinking of it as jacob with an ee/ie/y sound. Then I realised people were putting the emphasis on the coby part. Now I read it as either juh-Coby or jay-Coby.
I've seen it quite a few times here but I think I've only ever experienced it away from this site twice - once in a book and once on t.v - so I've only heard it once.

I'm the same as Charlotte. I say it Jack-uh-bee.
