It's been ages! By emily. 10 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Hi ladies,
It's been ages since I've been on here. But I've now been at uni for 5 months, settled in nicely, got a semester of out of the way and somehow managed to complete 8 exams. I'm now on 5 weeks holidays with a week already gone. How is everyone? Hope your all well and those with little ones, I hope they are all ship and dandy. ...I kind of need some advice. Okay... Simple way about it. I want/need to lose weight. I'm around 30-40kg's (66 - 88 pounds) heavier than I should be. I'm only 18 and its a huge worry of mine. I go to the gym, but it's by no way regular. I may go once a fortnight, if I'm lucky. I really want to kick my action plan into gear and start shedding the extra weight before uni goes back at the end of the month. Would you wonderful ladies be able to give me some useful ideas on how to lose the weight. And maybe, if I started a new thread and used it as a bloggish type thing would you all help to keep me on track and motivated? Give me further ideas and encouragement. Hope to hear from you all soon. - Emily.

Re:It's been ages! By ReenaC 10 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Cut out white bread, white rice, pasta, and sugar. Also avoid anything with High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Re:It's been ages! By Meaghan C. 10 Months, 3 Weeks Ago I've heard one of the biggest things to do to lose weight is to completely stop drinking pop/soda. Also, if you normally drive it would be a good idea to start walking places as much as possible.

Re:It's been ages! By Peacecanhappen27 10 Months, 3 Weeks Ago the above are good suggestions, you also might experiment with portion sizes and eating at different times of the day. Also make sure you're getting enough sleep, if you're sleep deprived you'll crave sweets and starchy stuff more.

Re:It's been ages! By OliviaUKmum 10 Months, 3 Weeks Ago Make sure you lose it in a healthy way. Don't do any of those stupid fad diets! You'll gain it all right back. Keep to exercising, but change up what you do. If your body gets use to one way of exercising (e.g 45 squats, 500 sit ups, 50 press ups you get the point) and it's no longer "work" anymore and it's quite easy, change it, otherwise you'll stop losing weight and may start gaining it back again.
Eat healthy. Don't go crazy and cut out everything you enjoy from your diet and all sweets, in my opinion that's stupid. You should be able to treat yourself occasionally. Maintain proportion sizes. Try not to graze throughout the day. Start out slowly and work your way in. Like if you decide you want to start running, 10 minutes first week, 12 the next, then 15 ect, ect. Also try hitting the gym at least 2 times a week. (When I'm not pregnant I go about 4-5 times, pregnant I've managed to make it twice a week) There is loads of other things, but that's the basic. Good Luck!
