Royal name for a Baby
By BritDad 4 Years Ago
Hello Everyone

My wife and I are in search of a name for our sixth child due in September. Because I'm British we have been giving each of our children at least one name of a British monarch to honor their british heritage.

Alexis Victoria
Christine Mary
Jessica Anne
Elisabeth Sophia (Beth)
William Edward (Will)

We'd like to keep that tradition going with the new baby. For a boy there are plently of choices available. For a girl there are just two choices left of women who inherited the throne, although if we cant come up with a suitable name using them we are open to using a kings consort's name. it doesnt matter if the name is the first or middle name. As for the non british name thats totally open for suggestion, unless you think we should use two monarchs names. We are looking forward to what you can come up with.

Kings
Henry
George
Richard
James
Charles
Harold
Edmund
Alfred
Edgar
Stephen
John

Queens
Matilda
Jane

Consorts
Catherine
Henrietta
Charlotte
Caroline
Margaret
Philipa
Isabella
Eleanor

Not that it matters but was Matilda not spelt Mathilde with the silent H ? No, that's French spelling but wasn't there one involved somewhere in Brit. Never mind that.

(Ma)Tilda Swinton (Brit. actress) is bringing the name back into fashion.
I like Tilda and not Tilly or Mattie for a nickname.

I like James, Isabella & Eleanor ... can't think right now about combo's.

Depending on whether you're going to have more children, you may want to save a name I like:
Matilda Jane (Tilda)
Jane Matilda (Tilda)
Jane Isabella (Belle)

My hubby is Nicolas so I'm biased .. but if you don't like leaving the H out:
Nicholas James (Nic)
Richard John (Rick)
Stephen Charles (Steve)

(nicknames are of course optional)
