I am afraid to tell people I am pregnant....
By shugafoot 3 Years, 9 Months Ago
I am single, recently broken up with the father of my baby. We were actually supposed to get married in Sept, and in June I left him. We had continued to be sexually active with eachother after I left. I just recently found out I am pregnant, and now I have to tell both of our families. I am scared to tell them a.) that i was still sexually active with him and b.) that im preg w/his baby!! Im not upset that im pregnant, i just dont want to be a letdown to my family. I am open for any advice, good or bad! Thanks for your help!

It's understandable that you feel a little uneasy about the situation and your probably scared of your families reaction but d'ont stress what ever there reaction they'll get over it and they'll be there to suppport you and when your tummy statrs to get rounder you'll see how happy they are!

Now a days it doesn't matter! It sounds like you were in a relationship that just didn't work out. sometimes it is hard to cut all ties if you are in a relationship that was going to lead to marriage or was for a long time. Chin up- think about it- your going to be a mom- how exciting!!! Good luck to you!

PS. My parents always said to us kids, "please be married before you have a kid." and then my brother and his wife got pregnant before they got married. Now they tell my sister who is 28, "It's ok to have a kid if you not married. Give us more grandkids!"

Pleople change their minds and veiws- give them a chance before you get all worked up.

Hey! You might get a lecture or two from your family, but I dont think it would be to much to worry about. I mean, whats done is done and they will accept that. Now if you and the daddy aren't going to get back together, then you will have to deal with child support and custody and all that stuff, but be happy you are pregnant, and congradulations!
