Re:Have Difficult Husband - need boy name help By missushump 3 Years, 9 Months Ago Have you tried having your husband research online and make a list of names he likes? Maybe have him pick at least ten? It sounds like he is being really picky, so maybe it would be better for him to come up with lists and you to choose from those.
I like the name Adam In hebrew the word Ah_Dahm means the earth and mankind. The word Ah-Dome means "red". Adam was the first name, and the first man on earth! Have you considered Aidan?

Re:Have Difficult Husband - need boy name help By Jeneen 3 Years, 9 Months Ago Thanks for all of your suggestions, some really great names. I showed the replies to my hubby and he still didn't like any!!!
The problem is that he doesn't want names that: a) are 'strange' - meaning any name he hasn't heard before (and seeing as he isn't around kids other than ours much that means a lot of the more popular names) b) have funny/mean possible nicknames (Alec = Smart Alec etc) c) are the same as someone he went to school with 10 years ago and didn't like plus there are a lot of males on his side of the family and we see them all the time so that rules out quite a few names that we would both like, such as Matthew, Michael and Daniel. I think he'll probably end up as Adam, which is growing on me the more I hear/see it. I'd like to have 3 or 4 names to choose from though, in case Adam doesn't suit him. Thanks again for all your suggestions and I'd love to hear more. I've added a few that I really liked to our 'maybe' list, hopefully he'll get used to them and come to like them too... I'll suggest he come up with a list for me to look at, that sounds like a fantastic idea (if he'll do it)

By Sam 3 Years, 9 Months Ago I like Adam and James. Adam doesnt sound too plain to me. its a good solid name that goes well with Cameron and Jake. I like James too and Jake and James dont sound wierd to me when paired. The only thing u might not like with that is they mean the same thing, to supplant or replace. i'd like my kids to have differnt meanings to their names but if ur fine with it since they are boys they may never even care what their names mean or notice they have the same meaning. I like Adam Fowler the best though, it just has a better ring then James Fowler to me.
