I would put it on there for the sake of the baby you know who it is and if he is there in the US the state will get child support from him without the big hassle

Thank you for your replies. I am young-only 16- and the father is 19 and he is a mechanic. I am going to need financial support. The only thing I am worried about if I give him half of the rights to my child is that he will be difficult. He isn't a nice person anymore. During my whole six months of pregnancy he has said one thing to me and that was f--- off, leave me alone . So I have another question-if I put unknown on the birth certificate is there any government funding that I could get?? (I live in BC, Canada)

i dont know about funding in Canada but i know my friend put the father on hers and because he didn't deny it or show up to court they did not give him any rights to the baby but they make him pay child support
