I know exactly how that can feel. My brother and my mother came over to my place the other day to pick up a couch that my fiance and I were giving away. The whole time, I was yelled at to not touch or carry anything. I can see the couch frame being a bit much for me, but the couch cushions? Please! Give me a break!

this may sound mean but if you really put him to work, get him to do everything from even fixing you a drink to carrying your purse I think he will decide when his help is really needed and act accordingly. Also just give him praise for his efforts and let him know that what he is doing is appreciated so he can feel involved. and last but not least remember the harmones. Sometimes the nicest and most helpful thing can be or seem aggravating.
