Today when I was out getting some viatimins I heard two women who were pregnant talking about how they were so surprised at the weight of their babies in utero...how do they know, if the babies aren't born yet????

They probably just take what they weighed before they got pregnant and subtracted that from what they weigh now. I'm not really sure but the weight probably isn't very accurate.

If you take the weight the average pregnant woman gains and then subtract her pre-pregnancy weight that would leave you with a 20-30 pound baby lol. Near the end of pregnancy your doctor can give a rough estimate of what the baby weighs.

doctors can estimate the weight and length of a baby during an ultrasound, although its not totally acurate it is however very close. they measure the size of the head around and the chest and the weight I was told all of this when I was pregnant but dont remember exactly. But yes they can estimate it while you are pregnant and should tell you about how much they weigh at the 8 month ultrasound. They were almost dead on with my daughter and my friends son...medical science can do almost anything
