By puck 3 Years, 8 Months Ago the doctor does measurements and estimates the weight based on size. its horribly inaccurate though. my boy was 7lbs 15oz estimated at 40 weeks,when he was born a week later he was 9lbs 5 oz. By ashleym09 3 Years, 8 Months Ago Thats really not that inacurate...it is very possible for a baby to gain a pound in a week sometimes even faster than that when you are in the final weeks of pregnancy...and really its only about a pound and a half off...might not be as incorrect as you think..
