Hey, i was just wondering in your opinion or experience, what is the best age gap between siblings?? I have an 19 month old toddler and would like to start trying for another baby soon but i'm just worried if that is a good age gap (if i got pregnant straight away there would be about a 2.5 year gap)or should i wait until he's a bit older?

Age is just a number. I have a sister that I am 16 yrs older than. My own kids have a 2 1/2 yr age gap, then the youngest came when my daughter was 9 and my oldest son was almost 7. My youngest son has 4 kids. his oldest is 9 and he has twins who are 6. The oldest child was 14 months old when her sister was born. He had 4 kids in diapers at once!! Wow, what a job! (they lived with me!) 2 1/2 yrs to 3 yrs difference is good. Not too close, yet not so different they will be able to share. Good luck to you & your babies.

My sister and I are 2 years apart.. well 2 years 5 months, and it worked out fine for us... I am planning/hoping to get a 3-4 year difference... but hey, if you guys are both ready, go for it! I know people with about a year -20 year gap. Yes, 20 years (it's his second marriage, so their technically only "half-siblings" but still..)

My sister had 3 daughters, and spaced them 7 years apart. She said that way, she could focus on the baby better.

My sons are 30 months apart - all three.

But my mom, had 5 kids 1 yr. apart, then my brother 3 yrs later, then my baby brother 2 yrs after him. Yep, we had 7 kids in the household.

i say go for a big age gap,at least 10 years. as a whole it can be really beneficial.i have a friend whos brother is older than her by only 6 years and hes been like a father to her.so i think the older the better.they can be like second parents,and in some cases,are the only parents.
