Vege help By RipWyatt I love you 4eva 3 Years, 7 Months Ago Can I please have some help?
Ok I made dinner tonight and I made eggplant and filled it with broccoli, shallots, cauliflour, carrots, peas, zucchini/courgettes, and asparagus. This isnt the first time i've made this meal but I added zucchini/courgettes and asparagus and Seth would not eat it, Elliot ate it all up, Seth ate everything else but the Zucchini/courgettes and asparagus. Any ideas on how I can get him to like them??? Thanks in advance Brieal

Re:Vege help By DONE GOODBYE genevra 3 Years, 7 Months Ago All you can do is offer them to him. I raised three boys, and my youngest would not eat much variety. I just served it on his plate, in his portion, and whatever he ate, was great. Later I learned he has food allergies, and all the yelling and coaxing to make a child to eat, only upsets them further, and causes stomach acids to create. No, just serve the food, and if he eats it great, but nothing else for at least 3 hours after meal was finished. No munching allowed, no cookies, chips, etc. after meal time. But if he wants to munch on leftovers on plate, go to it little bud. Eat whatever is left on the plate. Some are slower eaters. Children have innate indicators, that cue them to eat something or not. Parents should learn this, and not make such a fuss about what they don't eat, and should praise what they do eat. Next time, maybe have them help you cook, wash the vegies, try them raw, then stuff into dish, watch cook - eventually he'll get it.

Re:Vege help By mimigrace 3 Years, 7 Months Ago I've always been a picky eater (to the distaste and frustration of my mother).
But asparagus and zucchini are two vegetables which i really cannot stomach. (and yes i eat zucchini, but i won't eat asparagus). If he's eating everything else, i would say thats great. Also, i read a book (the sneaky chef) which said that some kids need to be served the same food several times before they will eat it, because meal times is the one thing where they have control (ie. they won't put something in their mouth unless THEY choose to). But in the end, he ate: eggplant, broccoli, shallots, cauliflower, carrots AND peas. Thats way more vegetables than some parents could force their kids to eat. So kudos's to you, your definitely doing something right
