Well, Ashley is a unisex name (personally, I prefer it on boys and really wanted to call my son Ashley, but I didnt want him to be teased as its now more common on girls, unfortunately, so it became his middle name instead)

But its strange that she appears to be enforcing gender stereotypes on her children of the opposite gender. Im all for a little of both, trying to keep a bit of a balance between.

It is traditional to dress girls in pink & boys in blue but with my boy i vary they're colours in clothes not to pink or purple but between blue-Green-white-beige-brown and black they have wore a pink shirt to a special occasion but not for anything else, they usually choose what they wear themself

Maybe there is more to this family than she wants to share with the public. They could very well be a family of Hermaphrodites. Surely, the children see a doctor, and the doctor would follow procedures, if anything is inappropriate about this mother. Teachers are also, according to the legal system, responsible to report any child abuse cases, and I am positive someone will be following up on these children, closely. Definitely out of the norm.
