Is a 35 week baby at a high risk for survival?
By joci08 3 Years, 7 Months Ago
The doctors are telling me that I am very tiny and they don't see me getting past the 35 week mark in my pregnancy. what are the chances that my baby will survive and be healthy?

I did some research on this before. 35-weeks has pretty good chance of survival. There are babies born as early as 27 weeks and still survive well.

The baby might be relatively smaller, but with good care, im sure he/she will be alright.

Best wishes to you and your baby!

35 weeks is a very good chance of survival, anything over 30 your chances are great. my girl was born at 30 weeks and she is a perfectly healthy almost 4 year old now. you and your baby will be fine.

With good care in the first weeks after delivery, chances of survival are very very high. I wouldn't worry at all. You know the show Jon & Kate Plus 8? Kate delivered her sextuplets at 28 weeks and look how healthy they all are! 4 years old now, I think.

Once you are past 34 weeks, they won't even need to give the baby steroid injections to mature the lungs. I just was induced due to having a small baby, she was only 5.5 lbs but perfectly healthy. I don't think you need to be concerned about the baby surviving, they will take great care of your baby once he/she arrives. Best of luck.

At 35 weeks it is considered preterm so it will be ok and chances are that they may not even need to keep the baby
