Freaking out
By pouse 3 Years, 7 Months Ago
Alright now this is going to sound really bad, and probably more than just a little paranoid, but I want opinions.

If someone you knew said they were going to show up at the hospital when you give birth, whether you told them they could or not, what would you tell them?

Also, would it be a bit paranoid to drive an hour to give birth at a different hospital just so they couldn't show up and because the hospital close to me has a very lax security set up?

I have no idea what I should really do, but this person is really stressing me out, because I keep worrying about them showing up.

Anyways, thanks for any advice you guys can give me, and I really don't mean to sound crazy just for the record.

Dont drive an hour..
Have you thought about maybe getting a restraining order on this person so that they cant come around? If you have a good reason..
If you're feeling threatened.. if you're in fear for your life or the life of your child.. talk to a lawyer.. do some research.

Also.. If your in your hospital room and that person shows up.. Just scream for the nurse and security.. If you make a big deal about wanting to be left alone.. the hospital should be able to keep that person away from you.. even if they have to call the police.

Dont worry about anything..
Just focus on your baby. If you're feeling threatened by this person make it known.. no one will let him/her hurt you or your baby.

okay so I'm not being weird and paranoid in thinking that it was probably the only way to get him to not show up.

Also its wierd, the hospital close to me has like no security that I've ever seen and I used to work there.

But I am actually really happy that I'm not the only one who thought thats what it might come down too, and that you guys don't think I'm being paranoid. Thank you so much.

I would be straight up and tell them it is a private matter and they are not welcome to watch and you will let them know when they are welcome to visit

If you leave early enough I dont see why you cant drive any hour...My hospital when I had my daughter is about 40-50mins away depending on traffic...No you shouldnt have to drive that far to get away from this person that you are afraid of but think about it...Its keeping your baby safer in general even if you didnt have this problem. My hospital is very high in the security on the baby unit. The parents cant even take their baby out of their own room to walk the halls unless the baby is in the portable crib or have it walking with you...Its for your own protection. So I guess my thought is to drive the extra time and keep your baby secure with you in the hospital. I cant believe any hospital doesnt have high-end security for the baby units. My daughter had two id bracelets, and an alarm on her foot, plus myself and my fiance both had matching bracelets to match my id number and my daughters. When the nurses brought her in or took her out we had to check the nurses id badge and she had to check both of ours and the babies every single time and they matched them up if she went back to the nursery...Its seems like alot but its wonderful protection for you and the new little one. Plus you cant even get onto the labor and delivery floor without being buzzed up the elevator....drive honey drive....
