Thank you aussiemommy. It is true, they do have a short attention span, I just thought I'd keep them occupied so they don't go random. I don't know the kids, I hardly know Kayin, and I don't know how many and the ages, either. So you never know I guess...But I'm not sure I'm crazy about them going random, assiemommy. Remember, multiples is more than one, so it's a slightly different situation.

And besides, most, if not all, of them will be in kindergarten, so they should be a little more knowledgeable of what good behaviour looks like, versus a preschooler or a baby, even. Even the basics, criss cross apple sauce, that sort of thing.

Oh don't worry i realise one is different to multiples. I had 3 under 5 plus twin 8yr olds here just yesterday. They played really well together & i just gave them a little direction when they got too 'random'. eg 'how about we go build sandcastles?' when they started getting stroppy with one of the boys kicking the ball too far.

I wouldn't have dared to do make-up with the girls yesterday but we did paint their toenails pretty colours. Their mummy's are my close friends & neighbours though so i knew they were ok with this. So that was a wise comment about the mums being not so thrilled.

Another one my daughter loves (& always tells me she does at daycare) is dress-ups. Even if its just some of your own older clothes & things you don't mind them playing with. The boys at daycare love it too.

I say be ready for a lot of different scenarios. My younger sister is big into babysitting, and my mom decided to pass a flyer around for her services at her workplace, which resulted in my sister getting a lot of odd jobs mainly for people and kids she doesn't know very well.

My mom and I generally try and equip her with a bag filled with a lot of different toys, or game activities. Something for everyone.

I always try and send her off with some paper and markers, a few barbies or dolls and some clothes (most little girls, even those who play with dolls regularly, will usually be excited to play with barbies and clothes that they haven't seen before), some music or musical instruments, some trucks or vehicles (perfect for almost any little boy).

Also, why don't you try bringing some chalk, and you can all create a masterpiece on the driveway, or something.

Like genevra said, you could always try a skit, or you could bring some costume clothes and play dress up. Try and contact the moms and ask about what their children like, and try and be creative! At least you'll have your friend their to help you out if things get bad.

Good luck!

I am kind of in the same situation so i will be posting a disscusion aswell.

When my children have had parties i always try different things where the other parents and grandparents can join in to. Like simple crafts and colouring also simple games like musical statues and musical bumps they really seem to be a big hit.

Or you can do simple things like we used to do,
like, have them all sit on floor, and play telephone. Talk about how gossip is created like that. Play Button Button, whose got the button.

You could play Charades - simple items listed on card.

Buy some paper doll cut out books at the dollar store, and let them cut, and create. Maybe glue, or whatever. Sounds like you already have a plan - Word Searches, Movie, snack. Don't forget little prizes for winners.
