hey all i thort i wud give u all a update on dominic and Nathaniel.
well its been nearly 3 weeks since lil dom n nate were born and the time has flow by..they boys are both being tube fed atm but i am pumping and they are getting fed the breast milk through the tube...i didnt know they could do this lol...nate is in a hub which is where he is able to breath on his own but they give oxygen into the hub to give him a little support. he is now in i think nicu room 3 (not 100% sure as its getting late and i am tired after a king day at the hosp n then dinner with my sister, neice and nephew. dom was also meant to move with nate but unfortuantly they discovered an infection on the 72 hr test which was a bit disappointing after the 24hr and 48hr both came up clear...hr has been put back on oxygen to support him through this and he has also been put on antibiotics. he is getting tested again 2moro after being on the meds for a few days so we are hoping it comes up clear so he can join nate in the next room. other than this all seems to be going well, had a few small complications but they both seem to be fighters and getting through this, i am hoping they will be well enough to come home around their due date which is in about 5 weeks as the house feels so empty without them...anyways i will keep u posted on how they are doing

got test results back and dominic is now clear of infection...just waiting for one more test back in the morning and if that is negative he will go into the new room with nate...was taken off the oxygen support late last night and has managed well by himself. if all goes well for the rest of the week and the weekend, they can hopefully go down another room and hopefully by the end of next week they will be moved to the lowest care room and then after that we would be moved into the clinic where we stay at the hosp for a few nights and look after them, with nurses on hand if we need...oh and btw they have taken nate off of the tube feed and now we have and will continue to try breast feeding him, and they will use a bottle with breast milk in it during the night feeds...they want dom to put on a little more weight within the next few days before they try to get him to take to the breast

Well i hope they are good, the both sound like little fighters. How much did they weigh born if u dont mind my asking? i love the names u chose too they are adorable. nice strong names. i hope u have ur little boys home soon.

nah thats fine i dont mind you asking, dominic was about 2 pounds and nate was about 2 pounds 3 ouces...both where 13.5 inches long from head to heel...atm nate is putting more weight on quicker he is becoming a little fatty lol, dominic is putting weight on slowly but not as fast as they would like thats why they are holding back a bit on the breast feeding incase he decides he wont take to it and therefore having to try get a tube down again
