research them, but try and go BPA free. The cheapest, best BPA free bottles are Playtex nursers. Definitely go with silicone nipples as they don't break down like the rubber ones.

AVENT bottles are great. I breastfed for 8mths but during that time (& after i felt confident my daughter wouldn't wean herself) i began to express milk (using the Avent Isis hand held breast pump - brilliant!) so that my husband could also feed her occasionally. I wanted him to have the experience of doing it as it's pretty special. Gave me just that little bit longer between feeds too so i could get things done.

Although you're not doing both (breast & bottle) i was recommended these by the hospital i had Tayla in & also lots of other mums. It's one of the most natural shaped teat - or so they say. Either way it was great, had no trouble with it at all. And unlike some that start on medium flow its available for newborns & comes in different sized bottles depending on age.

Tommy Tippie or Advent are the ones you ought to look out for i live in the UK and they are both also available. They last long and they are at very good prices.

The Advent bottles are not BPA free. Advent is supposed to start a BPA free product this year I believe. There are plenty of web sites that have lists of products that are BPA free or not. The only way to be a hundred percent sure is if the packaging on the bottles say BPA free or you use glass. Dr. Brown's is making a glass bottle now and these are great for colicky babies. My only question on these was if the apparatus in the middle that helps prevent colic was BPA free and I couldn't get and answer. Born Free is entirely BPA free as well as a few others. Playtex nursers don't have a BPA free shell but since the milk goes in a little bag and doesn't touch any of the outside it can't be contaminated. Oh and Medela breast pumps and accessories are BPA free. I know the studies are still out on how dangerous BPA is but I don't feel its worth the chance.

I personally found the playtex nursers with the bag to be a real pain and i did not like them. They also only have the rubber nipples which get all sticky and gross.

I also heard that the BPA is in all kinds of other plastic made containers like Water Bottles you get everywhere

Actually AVENT is on the list of BPA FREE bottles

I found this list as well all BPA FREE
