I don't about some of you, but for me, I can't stand it when people say my girl's name wrong or come up with ugly nicknames that even she doesn't like.

For example, I have a daughter named Camille, the ladies at her daycare always call her "Cammy", Camille doesn't like it and I don't either, and I tell them every time nicely thats its Camille, and they just ignore me!

Then her own grandma calls her Camille Anna, when it's Camille Anne.

But I guess its just me being picky...


sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to know if you get annoyed when people mispronounce your kids names?

I understand. For my name, my mom spelled it Ami instead of Amy and i get call Ah-mee, Am-ih,Ay-miss. It's rediculous. People cant put two and two together and figure out that it sounds just like Amy.

You know....that is exactly what has made me so wishy washy about the name I've chosen for my baby. It seems half the time I tell someone we are naming her Kylah, The response is "Kayla???" or "Kylie???". UGH. I love Kylah and think it is a beautiful name, and that is the name my 2 year old son has been calling her, but I seriously may change it just because I don't want her to have to explain her name to everyone her entire life.

If someone pronounces my oldest sons name wrong they can't read. His name is Jacob Travis, and i think my 3 year old sons name is easy to say to Braelyn Walker, but i've hear it said Brae-line before by one of my moms friends. But i know with my sisters and a few of my brothers names it drives my mom crazy.
For my little sister Lilianna, her teacher calls her lily-anna-ah instead of lili-on-ah, although everyone in the family correct her
With Kendalls middle name, Zita, people say Zit-tah instead of Zee-tah.
My brother Dante is stuck with that with both of his names, Dante Jose. His bestfriends mom calls him Dan-teh. And when they do roll call at his school they say his full name and he gets Dan-tah Josie. Instead of Don-tah Ho-zay

I guess when my mom introduced my 9 yr old sis (Cassie) to people, they always thinks she's saying Cathy. She said she's going to start introducing her by her full name, Cassandra...but I don't think she does.

My poor sister in law is named Chelsea pronounced Chel-See not Chel-See-Ah but to this day her grandmother pronounces it Chel-See-Ah i mean shes 23! It drives her crazy & she ALWAYS always gets called Kelsey by our grandfather & step grandmother & they spell it that way too i mean the first few times okay thats understandable but she & my brother have been together for nearly 6 years! It doesnt take that long to figure someones name out for anyone but our grandparents lol but they've also been spelling my sisters name Katy for the past 22 years when its spelled Katie but they always spell mine right
