Just curious.

I have a friend who is pregnant and a HUGE Girls Aloud and The Wanted fan. (For those not in the UK, Girls Aloud is a girl band and The Wanted is a boy band) so she decided if its a boy his name will be Nathan Thomas James (after 3 of the singers Nathan Sykes, Tom Parker and Jay McGuiness ) and Sarah Kimberley Cheryl for a girl(after 3 of the singers Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh & Chery Cole).


I think its a bit silly! My friend says its normal, hence why I'm asking

Well, I guess it depends on how you define celebrity. I suppose you could consider it fairly normal, although it wouldn't really be my style to do so with the regular meaning of celebrity. However, if I really, really liked that person it's possible. If you could say that people from the scriptures are celebrities, then you might say a lot of people named their kids after celebrities. Also, with the names your friend has chosen, I don't think it will be obvious that she named the child after any celebrities, because they are such common names.

I think it depends on the celebrity...I'd name a girl Taylor or Adele because their namesakes are good role models. But there are some celebrities who are always breaking up and getting married and having kids and dancing in and out of rehab and taking naked pictures every other day, so.

If she were naming the kid Gaga or Spike, I would call her Crazy, but the names she is planning to use are all pretty normal names. No one is going to be able to tell who she named her kids after based on their names.

I dont really believe in naming kids after celebrities, unless that that person has really influence in my life i would, for example my younger son is name Nicholas, after the Russian Zar
