Re:Birth Order By Celianne 2 Years, 6 Months Ago Me and my siblings are all a year and ten months apart each. Erskine, January 4, 1993; Me, November 12, 1994; Duncan, September 3, 1996.
It's worked out pretty well.

Re:Birth Order By Alisamber 2 Years, 6 Months Ago I believe that birth order does greatly affect who we are, but I don't think there's a "best", because you can't really totally plan that out! You can't pick the sex, and you may try to get pregnant at a certain time, but you may miscarry or deliver 3mon early, or whatever. We should all be grateful for the families we have, however many of each sex, and however many months or years between, etc. Families are meant to be different, and God sends certain people to certain families at certain times for certain reasons! Of course, we manipulate that some, but just enjoy!
I have always wondered how different my life and personality would be if I had an older brother(s) or sister(s), or more younger ones, etc. I have a brother 2.5 years younger than me. My personal feeling is we wanted our children 2-3 years apart each. Interestingly, that's what we got! Oh, I have read one of Kevin Leman's birth order books and it was pretty neat. Anyway, best wishes with your family!

Re:Birth Order By SHeff 2 Years, 6 Months Ago I would wait until the first one's potty trained. That may help financially as well w/diapers and what not.

By SLM 2 Years, 6 Months Ago As a person with a lot of Early Childhood background I have always heard it is best to have children 3 to 4 years apart. Then you give each child time to be the "baby". I had a professor say 1-2 years apart there is a lot of sibling rivalry. 3-4 years part they get along better with one another and 5 or more years apart is like having only children because the children have little in common. I have observed children for years and it seems to fall pretty true to what this professor said.
My cousin's 2 boys were 5 years apart and had little in common growing up and my cousin thought they would kill each other during their teen years. Now as adults thet still have little in common. A friend has hers 2 years apart and they fuss a lot of the time. Another friend has hers 3 years 4 months apart and they get along so well. I have observed other people's children for YEARS and I have if you can plan the pregencies try for 3 to 4 years apart. Your life will be much better!!!! The older one can understand, is out of diapers, and can HELP by handing you a diaper, a towel, etc. when the infant comes home from the hospital. You can make the older one feel special being the "big brother/sister" at ages 3-4 and they understand.

Re:Birth Order By NeedMiddleNames 2 Years, 6 Months Ago I'm 8 weeks pregnant and I'm planning to have the next one two years younger and the next and so on. I have an older brother (2 years older) and a younger brother (2 years younger) and we have great relationships. I wouldn't want there to be a big age gap.
