Read to your baby!
By happy2bme 4 Years Ago
Alot of people may know this already, but did you know that reading to your baby is good for him/her? I used to teach first grade, and in college I did research on this subject. It makes a big difference when they start school. They may not understand you yet, but it is good for them to hear you read, and when they're a little older they can help you turn pages. Board books are really good for babies since they can't tear the pages. When I taught school, it was amazing to see the difference in children who were read to, and those who hadn't. The ones who have never had anyone read to them struggle. I have read to my son since he was home from the hospital (even some before he was born, too- research shows that is good, too!) and I know it has made a difference in his vocabulary. And the more you read and talk to them, the better! Does anyone else do this?

yes, very important. my son, at 3 months recognises the book i read to him most, he listens so intently you can tell he knows it. my daughter is almost 4 and can read(mostly from memory) and can write most of the alphabet, she does get some letters mixed up and backwards, but shes just little. i dont think they would do any of this if we did not read to them.

happytohelp- the puzzles! she is so quick with them. she can do 100 piece puzzles aleady, i was absolutely shocked to see her do one at grandmas house, she only has up to 40 pc ones at home. amazing.
