Tattoo?
By unique names 1 Year, 2 Months Ago
I know this might be an odd question to ask in a baby names/ parenting site, but I thought since there's people on here from all over the world, there's bound to be someone who could help. Two brains are better then one. (Well in this case 1000+ are better then one). Also there's probably some of you who have had a meaningful tattoo done before. Or who lost a loved one, and can understand where I'm comming from. I'm getting a tattoo done for my grandpa. He has terminal cancer, and we're unsure of how long he will live with it. I wanted to get a tattoo with a meaning full quote. I was thinking of a line/lyric from a Beatles song. I want to put it on my wrist. I'm doing a small, simple orange phoenix and would like to put a simple quote under it. Possibily a quote that has a few words; I can't seem to think of any that really "click", or go with the meaning of the phoenix. I don't want to make the same mistake as last time. Any help or advice for quotes is hugely apericated. Again I know that this is an odd question to be asking. But to tie it into parenting, what are your thoughts on tattoos? Or your thoughts on your children getting tattoos?
Thank You so much in advance for your help!

I'm doing something similar for my 18th birthday present to myself. I'm getting my nan's name "Ella" and her birth and death dates "1937 - 2010" as she was my everything. My death notice in the paper to her had everyone crying - including my dad who doesn't cry. I'm not sure where I'm getting it done, maybe on my ankle, but yeah. I can't wait until October.

I know I hid this fact because I don't want people knowing I have tattoos but I have 2.. I know I have said I don't on this site, or I'm pretty sure I have.

For your saying, I'm sorry I can't help you. I feel like it's only something you can decide. But does it have to be a beatles songs?

My 2 are, I have the puzzle piece for autism behind my ear. The Celtic Sisters Knot for my sister and me we got when I was 21 on my hip and I plan on getting another really small one to represent my children

I have two tattoos - both of which have A LOT of meaning to me:

I have one on my back - right shoulder blade - which is a starfish and drumsticks. It's a tribute to my best friend and former roommate, who passed away after a car accident a few years ago. He was cremated, and his ashes were actually mixed into the ink that was used. Even though it's on my body, this is one of my very most prized possessions!

To top it off, he actually made the tattoo appointment! In the November before, he called and made an appointment for us to go up there together in March. He passed in February, so I kept the same appointment.

The second tattoo is on my side - it says "Be A Dragon" in Welsh: "Byc' Smok". It's a tribute to my grandfather, who wrote a self-help and inspirational book called Be a Dragon. It's also a reminder to myself to do everything full-force, always be honest, have integrity and determination.

As for your question.... I know Beatles songs through and through, and there is nothing that works with a Phoenix, per say, but there is a line from LET IT BE, which you may like:

"Shine on until tomorrow, let it be" - It's part of a longer line:

"And when the night is cloudy,
There is still a light that shines on me.
Shine on until tomorrow, let it be."

I think it works for your situation.

Even though I'm only 19, I have two tattoos. I was underage when I got my first one and then just after my 18th I got my second one.

I got my first at 16 and its of 3 small stars to represent the women in my family. It also has the first letter of our names. My mum, older sister and I all got them at the same time. So we have the letters, T, S & D inside the stars for Tracey, Sarah & Daniela. If my baby is a girl, I'm getting her added after she's born. Its just a nice monarch for the girls in my immediate family. It's on the back of my right shoulder blade.

Just after I turned 18, I got the word "believe" on my wrist as its always been a motto for myself. If you believe, you can succeed in anything you attempt to do.

I have a few. On my feet I have "Live Pure" (one on each foot). It's a staightedge tattoo meaning I pomise myself to never put drugs in my body. I also have three music notes behind each ear.
