Re:Tattoo? By Alisamber 1 Year, 2 Months Ago Hi. I don't want to offend anyone, but I did want to answer your question at the end. I personally don't like tattoos of anything on anybody. I don't think it's a good idea in the long run. Why not make a special scrapbook---with photographs, quotations, and other lovely things. It can encompass and relay a lot more than a tattoo. Also, ask your grandfather what all his favorite songs are and compile a cd. Record your grandfather speaking of his childhood, favorite memories, etc. Ask what his favorite charity is and donate the money you would spend on a tattoo to that charity in his name. And rally your family to all get involved in the charity together. These are just a few ideas and I hope this helps!

Re:Tattoo? By CamsMama1102 1 Year, 2 Months Ago I have 6 tattoos!! I have a faery on my left hip, a guitar on my lower back, a shooting star on the left side of my chest, Just on my left wrist and Breathe on my right wrist and the last one I've gotten is Camerin's handprint in the middle of my upper back, with his name, DOB and the words "mo chroi" which means "my heart" in gaelic! I love tattoos! I know a lot of people dont like them, and they are permanent but I just love them and I love the personal expressions that they represent.
As for your tattoo, I think thats a great idea. I'm not sure about Beatles lyrics, but does it have to be one of theirs? There's lots of great quotes out there!! Good luck!!! And I would love to see a pic when its done! I just really like tattoos!!

Re:Tattoo? By unique names 1 Year, 2 Months Ago Thanks for all of your help. It really means alot to have other peoles opinions. I'm 19 and have two tattoos. This will be my third tattoo in ten months. I got my first tattoo on June,21st 2010 for a graduation present from my Ma. She really wanted to pay for our first one. I never pictured my-self getting tattoos.I didn't want any either. LOL. I got the first one as a personal one to my self, as opposed to gettting one for my aunt. I whish that I got the one for my aunt first though. I got the second one on September 1st 2010. My aunt died about a week latter. She never really got to see it though. She died of cancer and wasn't fully "there/with it" towards the end of her life. I want to get this tattoo done soon so that my grandpa can see it. As for not putting tattoos on ones body I can understand that view point. My grandpa is like that. He says "why go and put that crap on your body?" when I went and got mine done for my aunt. But when my aunt was sick it just kind of clicked, to get one and I kind of felt better after getting it done. That way she is always with me. As for a Beatles quote, I was born and raised on the Beatles, lol. My Ma and aunt love the Beatles, and our house if full of Beatles things, and music. My grandpa likes their music so I wanted to keep in the style of my other tattoo. My first tattoo is three words, Liberty Justice Equality, on my right leg above my ankel. The words are stacked upon one-another. I love law and the words have a meaning to my life, Liberty- to be free to be who ever I want ( that's how my Ma raised us), Justice, be just to others and ones self, and get justice when needed, Equality, treat others equaly and recieve it in return, plus I'm all for equal rights. The one for my aunt is a butterfly with the lyrics, "love you everyday girl, always on my mind." (the butterfly is between the lyrics), and it's on my right shoulder blade. I'm just having a hard time finding lyrics to remember my grandpa. I was thinking about, "You know I love you", but I do like the Let it Be idea.

Re:Tattoo? By mickeymoo7 1 Year, 2 Months Ago I like the following;
"Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.” - Beatles Lyric "Love is like a flower, give it time and it will grow" - John Lennon "Reality leaves a lot to the imagination." - John Lennon "Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given, never forgotten, never let it disappear." - John Lennon "Love is the answer and you know that for sure" - John Lennon "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." "Eight days a week I love you." "Strawberry Fields Forever." A lot of them can mean what you want them to mean. Good luck and I'd love to know what you choose

Re:Tattoo? By Layla Rose 1 Year, 2 Months Ago "Love is a promise, love is a souvenir, once given, never forgotten, never let it disappear." - John Lennon
I really like that from mickeymoo7. Some others might be: "Treasure these few words 'til we're together, keep all my love forever, PS I love you, you, you, you" (song: PS I Love You) "Free as a bird, it's the next best thing to be... free as a bird" (song: Free As A Bird) "A lifetime is so short, a new one can't be bought, but what you've got means such a lot to me" (song: Love You To)

Re:Tattoo? By unique names 1 Year, 1 Month Ago I like your suggestion, Mrs.Scull. I'm just worried that the line of lyrics will be to long.lol. I'm not really a small girl, size wise, but for some reason I have stick arms
I was thinking maybe doing: "And when the night is cloudy, There is still a light that shines on me." The phoenix will go in between the lines, this is how my butterfly one is done. I think that those lyrics suit the phoenix. Phoenix's die and are reborn from their ashes, so they never really die, they're always here. So my grandpa will always be with me, once he leaves this world. Phoenix's symbolizes re-birth and forever. To me the butterfly was a sign of freedom. My aunt was free of the pain. Does this sound reasonable? I try to look at many different options and such when making life impacting decisions, and to me getting a tattoo for someone is life impacting, and I want it to have not only true meaning to me but also for him. What about the lyrics, "Someone to love, someone like you", do they "fit' the theme, would you guys/girls say? Hmm I've never had this hard of a decision before. Losing someone special, that you consider to be your world, is difficult. Thanks for all of the help. You guys/girls gave me a bunch to think about and a lot of different options!
